Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is rising in the polls among Democrats, but questions about his electability against President Trump persist because he self-identifies as a democratic socialist.

A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll backs up the idea that the label could hurt him.

Asked about their impression of socialism, only about a quarter of Americans (28%) said they have a favorable view, while almost 6-in-10 (58%) said they had an unfavorable impression.

If socialism is so unpopular with Americans, how can Sanders be on the rise in the Democratic primary? Because Democrats and, more specifically, progressives view socialism favorably. Half of Democrats said so, while more than two-thirds of progressives did.”

Just 23% of independents, though, and 7% of Republicans viewed socialism favorably.”

No matter which far left loon is nominated by the radical Democrat Socialist Party, their platform and agenda will reflect pure stone Socialism.

The American people do not support Socialism.

    Go, Bernie...go.

There is no Socialism. The Reds are just calling it that to fire up the uneducated. Every country they point at is Capitalistic. They just spend more of their money on healthcare and safety nets. They are using scary names to make people vote against their own self-interests. It works on the people who have less education or believe right-wing propaganda. The wealthy are not your friends. They don't want you to have anything including healthcare, Social Security, food stamp or a min wage. Vote for them again and watch what happens. Vote for trump again if you want, but read his budget first. He is slashing the safety net that is already very weak. Of the 29 industrial countries, only one does not have national healthcare. Rightys like that.

    Horse mierda.

    CIA World Factbook.

    Venezuela...Economic Unit:

“Under President Nicolas MADURO, the Venezuelan Government’s response to the economic crisis has been to increase state control over the economy and blame the private sector for shortages. MADURO has given authority for the production and distribution of basic goods to the military and to local socialist party member committees. The Venezuelan Government has maintained strict currency controls since 2003. The government has been unable to sustain its mechanisms for distributing dollars to the private sector, in part because it needed to withhold some foreign exchange reserves to make its foreign bond payments. As a result of price and currency controls, local industries have struggled to purchase production inputs necessary to maintain their operations or sell goods at a profit on the local market. Expansionary monetary policies and currency controls have created opportunities for arbitrage and corruption and fueled a rapid increase in black market activity.”

There is no bloody Socialism light.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Exactly, if you asked the majority of Americans to define "socialism" they couldn't, it is like the Tea Party guy who shouted he didn't want any socialism but they better keep their hands off his Medicare

Did that guy pay into Medicare while working?

When are food stamp recipients going to pay the taxes that fund their handouts?

Does using Venezula as the scapegoat ever get old? What many in the Democrat Party are advocating isn't Venezuela, and it is always interesting how many of the Scandinavian models are left out with the rush to Venezuela

Another lame arguememt, whatever today's OBG's are getting on Medicare pales to what they paid in, one serious operation alone can run into triple figures

And it is not about "food stamp recipients," even though a good number of them are also OBG's, it is about at least minimal health care for all Americans

    Precisely!

From a thread I started a few days ago. Here's the SOCIALISM they need to get rid of if they hate the concept so much...

    Guaranteed public education
    Public transportation
    Fire departments
    Police departments
    Public libraries
Every branch of the US military
    Roads & highways
    Bridges & tunnels
    Social Security
    Medicare/Medicaid
Public, not private prisons & jails
    Public hospitals
    The Veterans Affairs Administration
    Public universities
    Public parks
    National parks
    Public toilets
    Public drinking fountains
    Public parking
    Museums
    Food and Drug Safety Administration

Most are clueless and don't even realize how much they have come to enjoy and rely upon SOCIAL programs, policy and infrastructure. AND we have now wound up with SOCIALISM for the wealthy as in Privatize the Profits/Socialize the Losses and tax cuts for the top percent which the unwashed masses winds up paying for. So GTFOH with this propaganda false narrative right wing talking point thread.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

Doesn't change that they paid in.

It's about any program those getting didn't help fund which is entirely different than Medicare. Food stamps is just one example.

There is a way, if you think someone without coverage, can get the care they need. YOU personally pay their bills. Someone unwilling to provide coverage for him/herself my responsibility. I met the responsibility I have to the only ones to which I owe it. Outside of that group, the rest didn't make the list.

Why? I don't see a lot of Republicans out there fighting for private police forces, all private schools, eliminating SS or Medicare, you are incorrect
