Default Birth Control: Sharing the responsibility

For decades, the debate has raged over exactly how American society approaches sex and birth.....when should humans be made responsible for their own actions via Over the Counter contraceptives; should a woman of legal age have the right to confer with a doctor and opt for an abortion.

Now Americans just LOVE to profess that the cornerstone of this country is your individual freedom....the ability to make your own personal decisions and pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, etc., etc. Yet it seems that some people just can't stand the very notion that someone else in this country is using the same state and federal rules and regulations they use to live a happy and productive life while NOT doing what others do. Mind you, even if it is of no harm to anyone, deviance from the group norm is just not tolerable for some.

Well, there's an old saying....what's good for the goose is good for the ganders. So here is one creative local politician's answer to the age old question of state/federal control on abortion. This is a classic!

"In response to last year’s near-total (and temporarily blocked) abortion ban in Alabama, a state legislator has introduced a bill that would require a man to undergo a vasectomy, at his own expense, “within one month of his 50th birthday or the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first.”

Is there a Law in Alabama that requires women to undergo tubal ligation at 50 or after their third child?

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Women should have control of their own bodies. A baby in the womb is NOT the woman's body. Way to go with a false dichotomy. Get back to us when you're ready to have an honest discussion Tacky Liberal.

    You lie

The solution is very simple. If a woman doesn’t want to get pregnant then she should avoid the act that leads to pregnancy. If she had true control over her body then it wouldn’t be a problem. Abortion is an acknowledgement that a woman can’t control her body. Period

All of this talk about men and vasectomies is a distraction from that basic fact.

Now cue the “life and health of the mother” argument

The fact of the matter is that Planned Parenthood has become a money making organization no different than Shell Oil. But where Shellis in the business of fueling our engines, Planned Parenthood is in the business of killing unborn babies

If you mad money off of unborn babies and STDs would you want fewer unintended pregnancies and fewer STDs? No you would want more of them.

Typical left wing horseshit from someone that likely got elected based on skin color rather than qualifications.

Hate to break it to you but unless the woman consents to having sex, outside of the crime of rape and that is a separate issue, a man can't her pregnant. What that means is the best form of birth control is her saying no unless she's willing to accept getting pregnant even if it wan't her intent. You lefties want to focus on the results rather than the choice to produced those results.

Translation: If someone doesn't say something that I want to hear, I go back into hiding and blame them because I can't debate rationally.

Why are you so scared of debate, BOY? You've shown you can't debate rationally yet I don't have you on ignore. Guess that means I'm a better man and person than you.

Taichi focuses on the results not a decision.

Unless the woman gets pregnant from rape, and that is a crime and another issue altogether, she can't get pregnant unless she's consented to having sex.

I love it when you use the most moronic, bass-ackwards "logic" to try and condescend to someone. I don't even have to make fun of you...you self ridicule.

Please explain to the reading audience just how a baby CONCEIVED IN THE WOMB OF A WOMAN IS NOT PART OF HER BODY. Last time I checked, the whole point of a womb is to conceive via insemination (look it up if you don't get that last word) and bring to term that combination of sperm and egg (the latter another part of the woman's body) to produce a baby. Now if you know different, I'd like to know exactly how that baby is NOT part of the woman's body. Hell, I'm sure the entire global medical community would like to know how this is physically possible.

And while you scramble to achieve this, try focusing on the actual content of the link in relation to my OP. Carry on.

Damned if I know.....this BS on abortion is bad enough, so I doubt if there is. But just to shoot the breeze on this....since a woman conceiving after 50 is more likely the exception and not the rule, I doubt it. But the proposal by Rep. Hollis hits a nerve, because on the whole guys can impregnate a woman well beyond their 50's.
