The president was correct in reassigning him...

The governor of Alaska, Dunleavy, tried to force state employees to sign a pledge/oath of loyalty to him -- or be fired. He is a great admirer of TRE45ON, where he got the idea.
"The ACLU of Alaska today announced lawsuits against Governor Mike Dunleavy, his Chief of Staff Tuckerman Babcock, and the State of Alaska on behalf of three former state workers who were illegally terminated immediately upon the Governor taking office.
"The suits stem from the Governor’s demand that non-political, non-policy-making state workers submit their resignations and, if they wanted to keep their jobs, reapply with a pledge of personal political support for Gov. Dunleavy and Mr. Babcock’s agenda.
"The directive violates longstanding court holdings that non-political, non-policy-making public workers cannot be forced to relinquish their free speech rights as a condition of employment and cannot be retaliated against for expressing their own views. It is also a well-established constitutional principle that the right to remain silent is as much a part of our free speech rights as the right to speak out."

That's not the point. The point is all you Reichwingers and your IMPOTUS have been attacking Vindman personally, smearing his service to our country, calling him a traitor, calling for him to be disciplined by the military, etc. -- for obeying his sworn oath. As EE pointed out, he was given an unlawful order by the IMPOTUS to disregard a lawfully-issued subpoena. He disobeyed that order, as all of our service people are sworn to do when they join the military. I know this is a difficult concept with big words; maybe you can ask someone smarter, like Scooby, to explain it to you.

He was certainly free to Register an objection to the president's policies if he felt they were not appropriate...But don't put on your uniform and then criticize him in front of government representatives He crossed the line when he did that...
Simple....
