Default Another Decades-Old Reason To Vote Blue No Matter Who: Districting

Once every ten years we redraw the Congressional districts based on the Census.

IMPOTUS has already tried to rig that by putting the citizenship question on the Census, and got shot down by the SCOTUS.

The Constitution clearly says the districts are to be drawn according to the number of people in each district. It does not specify citizens or voters.

We need to govern our country accordingly.

Republicans rigged the system quite heavily by getting control of this in 2010. Districts are currently gerrymandered to favor Republicans.

It is time to VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO to right that wrong, not give them the power to make it worse.

Republicans have a hopeless future with the Demographics going towards more Democratic voters, so they have to try to rig the system to get anywhere on remaining in power.

    Will we let them?

If we let Republicans have full control of districting for another ten years the climate is doomed. Nothing meaningful to anything but greed and wealth will pass.

There is a reason Democrats have had such a hard time gaining power. It is because Republicans have drawn the district maps for 50 years.

The Congressional districts are heavily gerrrymandered to favor Republicans.

Democratic voters have been grouped into a few strong Democratic districts so that Republicans get more districts where they have just enough of an advantage to win. That's why Republicans are able to frequently take more seats in the House, despite being not as popular. We don't want another ten years of heavily gerrymandered district lines to favor Republicans.

It's time for districts to be drawn more fairly.

Someone help me out with my history please. Redistricting is done at the state level. Each state has their own way of doing it. The claim was made that Republicans have controlled redistricting for 50 years. Yet we know Republicans have not controlled the legislature and Governorships of all 50 states for 50 years. So what am I missing?

there is a USA court record that is DECADES LONG that PROVES Republicans cheat in elections

Its why the republican party was forced by the Courts to remain on a consent decree prohibiting them from cheating voters out of their right so vote for DECADES

you lack consistency.....first you claim we seized control in 2010, now you say we've been doing it for 50 years.......if we've been doing it for fifty years why have the demmycunts controlled Congress for 80% of that time?......

How about the dozens of congressional districts that were drawn solely to create majority minority areas. I don't know of any State that has a black majority but there are 23 gerrymandered black majority districts. Why don't you lefties have a problem with drawing districts to improve the chance of a black getting elected when you'd have a problem if one was drawn to lessen that likelihood?

It's clear you're not concerned about using race at long as it works in your favor.

Republicans do hold the majority of States and governorships.

Edward Blum is a conservative activist who helped get the Voting Rights Act kneecapped in 2013.

He sued Texas in 2014 to try to force them to count only citizens for redistricting. The SCOTUS ruled against him, but that left a loophole for dear leader to waltz right through with an EO telling all federal agencies to send all data on who is and is not a citizen to the Dept of Commerce, which oversees the Census. The goal is to give Republican States the tools to use only the citizen count when redrawing districts. But this is in violation of the Constitution, because the Constitution says "the number of whole persons." It does not say 'citizens.'

Nothing has changed for many years until you whiny libturds started crying. Now you're crying that all Reps having districting advantages. Bullshit! It just never ends from you crying libturds..
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.
