"Bloomberg grew up in Medford, Massachusetts and attended Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Business School. He began his career at the securities brokerage Salomon Brothers, before forming his own company in 1981, Bloomberg L.P., a global financial services, software and mass media company that bears his name, and is known for its Bloomberg Terminal, a computer software system providing financial data widely used in the global financial services industry. He spent the next twenty years as its chairman and CEO. As of November 2019, this made him the ninth-richest person in the United States and the 14th-richest person in the world; his net worth was estimated at $58 billion.[3] Since signing The Giving Pledge whereby billionaires pledge to give away at least half of their wealth, Bloomberg has given away $8.2 billion.[4]"

I have heard that Trump is really afraid of Bloomberg.
Bloomberg makes Trump look like an idiot.
Bloomberg actually built a great business that provided a needed service, the right thing at the right time, and made a ton of money legally without ripping anybody off.
Bloomberg didn't have to lie or cheat.
Bloomberg did what Trump secretly wished he was able to do, and Bloomberg is accepted in all social circles.
No wonder Trump hates him!

Trump didn't go to Harvard business school. Maybe he is at a disadvantage when faced with Bloomberg.

Michael Bloomberg blocks footage of Aspen Institute appearance

“Three-term New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg speaks before a crowd of about 400 at the Aspen Institute on Feb. 5.
Michael Bloomberg representatives have asked the Aspen Institute not to distribute footage of his recent appearance in Aspen, where the three-term New York City mayor made pointed comments concerning minorities and gun control.
Both the Institute and GrassRoots TV, the organization that filmed the event, confirmed Thursday that they will not broadcast the footage online or on television as planned.
“We basically honor the wishes of our speakers, and Mayor Bloomberg preferred that we not use the video for broadcast,” the Institute’s chief external affairs officer Jim Spiegelman wrote in an email Friday. “He did not give a reason nor did we have any reason to ask for one. We often feature speakers who prefer that their presentations not be videotaped.”
Appearing before nearly 400 people in Aspen on Feb. 5, the billionaire founder of Bloomberg L.P. argued that in order to save lives, police should seize guns from male minorities between ages 15 and 25.
“These kids think they’re going to get killed anyway because all their friends are getting killed,” Bloomberg said during the speech. “So they just don’t have any longterm focus or anything. It’s a joke to have a gun. It’s a joke to pull a trigger.”

For years we've heard people ask why do blue collar whites like Trump (a billionaire from NYC). A couple of responses in this thread provide the exact answer. He may be rich and from NYC but Trump was never accepted in elite NYC circles. For starters he's from Queens. I don't know all that much about the elite NYC social scene but old money there doesn't come from Queens. And of course he walks to the beat of his own drum for better and worse. So Trump has always generally been rejected by the coastal elites in their social circles no matter how much money he has. (now I'm somewhat generalizing because he did hang with the Clinton's and others, it wasn't like he was totally ostracized but we get the point)

Bloomberg is a virulent racist.

Hello cawacko,
Trump is ostracized because he is offensive and people disapprove of his lack morals.
Bloomberg is accepted (even though he did not come from wealth) because he made it on his own and he can get along with people, doesn't play victimhood, running around with a chip on his shoulder.
