The Federal Sentencing Guidelines call for 6 to 9 years.
It is the Department of Justice policy to recommend sentences in accord with the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The attorneys following the policy recommend the judge sentence the perp to 6 to 9 years.
The President complains, and the Attorney General changes the recommendation.

It is not just that Trump can govern by tweet, as disgusting as that is, but the highest positioned guy in justice immediately took Trump's hint and stepped in. Barr is at that end of Trump's string. He pulls Barr and he follows . Barr is a pull toy with no respect for the law. The prosecutors followed the law and the guidelines with precision. They were repelled by Barr and withdrew or quit. Trump and Barr do whatever they want. You rightys do not care.
