Well that is a disturbing answer to the question, "why are you in Thailand?"
Here is a not disturbing answer: about a decade or so ago, my parents went to Phuket, Thailand for a wedding of one of their former students. They stayed in Bangkok for a week. It is a beautiful city, but some of the expats are very scary.

I've been to Phuket many times, fortunately not in 2004. I was in Pattaya on Boxing Day 2004 and watched it in TV.

Coronavirus passed up the fatality numbers of SARs. It did it in 8 weeks instead of 8 months. Still, it is not that big. The fear is what it could turn into. 61,000 Americans die of their homegrown flu every year. This is nothing like that, but it could turn into a pandemic. https://www.odt.co.nz/news/national/...andemic-likely

A lie doesn't become the truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't become good just because it is accepted by a majority.
