And with those kind of numbers all a Democrat needs to do is give the black community an obligatory nod—since he/she knows they will get 85% of the vote, no matter what.

Then Trump comes along touting his record black employment numbers while Democrats are talking about saving the planet or whatever.

Trump doesn’t need 85% of the black vote. If he approaches 20% it would likely spell trouble for Democrats in the election. Even worse, it probably means they’ve lost them for good.

I’ve been saying for years that the Democrats were going too far left and too fast.

I guess they bought their own rhetoric about demographics changing things 4-ever and that Republicans would be 4-ever the minority party. So, that gave the left license [they thought] to move as far to the left as they wanted to. The old white voters were going to die off and be replaced by Hispanics etc.

But in doing this, they made more centrist democrats such as yourself...vulnerable. Trump took advantage of it and the rest is electoral history.

Even if I advocated traditional democrat policies I couldn’t be a part of today’s Democrat Party. Why should I stay with them? They don’t care about what I care about—hell, half of what they talk about on the national level is sheer nonsense.
