Default SOTU Speech: Trump Lies, Cheap Showmanship, False Claims Of Accomplishment.

It was like a reality-show. The impression of leadership; but lacking the substance.

The only thing he forgot was the music, smoke and mirrors. If he could have had indoor fireworks he would have used them. I'm surprised he didn't have a portable golden escalator rolled into the chamber so he could descend from the heavens to make his entrance.

    Alexander Hamilton totally nailed it:

"The truth unquestionably is, that the only path to a subversion of the republican system of the Country is, by flattering the prejudices of the people, and exciting their jealousies and apprehensions, to throw affairs into confusion, and bring on civil commotion. .  .  . When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habits—despotic in his ordinary demeanour—known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty—when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity—to join in the cry of danger to liberty—to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion—to flatter and fall in with all the nonsense of the zealots of the day—It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may ‘ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.’ "

Trump's considerable talent was on full display at the SOTU.

    He is a con man.

Talks a big game, but his talk is full of deception.

    What cheap showmanship:

Gave away a medal of honor (in the case of Limbaugh, that was an insult to all he has ever wronged, disparaged and insulted.)
Made a symbolic promotion to a 100 year old black hero that Trump never would have hired before his service.
Brought one soldier back from endless war for an emotional and tearful heart-tugging reunion, (probably sent somebody else over there to replace him - of course we don't see the tearful goodbyes in that family.)
Bumped somebody up on the stingy hurtful list to get a better education because he has failed as a leader to provide a proficient public one.

If this all sounds reminiscent of the great Wizard of Oz and 'man behind the curtain' we should 'pay no attention to,' that is no mistake. Where were Dorothy, the Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow?

Many have covered the out and out lies of the speech - that is well known.

It is the circus-like showmanship which is being overlooked. He is dangling shiny objects as he picks your pocket.

On and on he went about how great the economy is but never mentioning the federal debt, or the crushing debt of so many Americans just to get an education for a job that takes decades to pay off the education - time in which back when America was 'great' they would be making payments not to pay off their education (which should be free - it's just knowledge,) but to be buying a home, the basic vehicle to wealth of middle America.

Did Trump mention how much of the country actually owns a home?

    NO!

    We can only wonder why.

They are not able to. Can't afford one. Paycheck to paycheck, pay day loan joints and buy here pay here are their only recourse to avoid destitution.

If the American economy is doing 'so well' why is home ownership still so low?

And hello. The economy was doing great when Trump took office. Wages rose faster under Obama's last three years than in Trump's first three.

Pelosi rained on the Trump parade with one simple smiling act.

She's got class, Trump's got crass.

Have you caught the dupes' latest butthurt? They are so poutraged about the Pelosi gesture that now they're claiming she should go to prison for destroying an official document. I wonder how many of the other 537 copies of the screech went into File 13 afterwards? Lock 'em up! All of 'em!

Trump is nothing but a cheap carnie operating at a different level.

We have got to expose the fraudster for the good of the nation.

    Trump's idea of leadership:

    'My way or the highway.'

He is always right, won't listen to anybody else.

    Toss the bum out.

He's already been exposed, and has been for years. The rubes don't care. They're proud of voting for a carnival sideshow barker. Apparently being scorned and mocked by their glorious Golden Gourd of an IMPOTUS isn't a bad thing.

This thread is a crock of horse mierda.

“18 U.S. Code & 2071. Concealment, Removal or "Mutilation" generally...……………. Whoever willingly and unlawfully, conceals, removes, MUTILATES, obliterates, or destroys...……documents that are or have been filed with any clerk officer of any court officer in the United States or in any public office...or with any judicial or public officer of the United States (I wonder if a POTUS is considered an officer?) shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than 3 years

Section B.....shall forfeit office and be disqualified from holding any office under the Untied States.”

Nervous Nancy obliterated and destroyed a presidential document (the president is the highest officer in the land).

    Lock her up.

Vote for the selfish penthouse billionaire because he understands what it's like to live in an old trailer and scrape by on a part time job that doesn't pay enough under the threat of losing your 'buy here pay here' car (the one with the GPS locator device for the repo man.)

But at least you have a hero to cheer for in the hopes that someday you will be so rich.

The moral to this story is, don't live in an old trailer and scrape by on a part time job that doesn't pay enough under the threat of losing your 'buy here pay here' car (the one with the GPS locator device for the repo man.)
