11 minutes to put Trump in his place is hardly enough but she nailed it anyway.

She was just elected in 2018. So far she's been pretty impressive. Got a feeling we will be seeing much more of Ms. Whitmer.

Oh, that's right. She was part of the nation's response to the insult of Trump. How fitting that she should have the national spotlight to respond to his con.

Trump mentioned 'failing government schools.' Whitmer talked of public school successes.

It only stands to reason that if public schools are failing that is a failure on the part of government, not a reason to lose faith in government, but a reason to work on government to make it better.

Republicans cut school funding and school programs so they can say government schools are failing. What is failing is Republican support for public schools.

Our focus on education should not be to make a profit at it. It should be to makes schools effective at educating our young people.

How appropriate to have someone who has been sexually assaulted give the response to Trump.

Is that for one particular state, or the country as a whole? Because Gallup says something completely different. (This is from Jan. 2019)

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' assessment of their political ideology was unchanged in 2018 compared with the year prior when 35% on average described themselves as conservative, 35% as moderate and 26% as liberal. Although conservatives continue to outnumber liberals, the gap in conservatives' favor has narrowed from 19 percentage points in Gallup's 1992 baseline measurement to nine points each of the past two years."

    My post
he size of ideological groups varies slightly depending on the poll. Gallup/USA Today polling in June 2010 revealed that 42%% of those surveyed identify as conservative, 35% moderate and 20% as liberal.
I combined moderate with conservative as moderates lean slightly more conservative. So the two aren't that far apart.
