I don't understand where this logic comes from, "that part was supposed to have been done in the House."
If an individual is in on trial for an offense and in the course of the trial new evidence surfaces relevant to the charges you are telling us that that new evidence is inadmissible cause the prosecutor didn't bring it up during the Grand Jury hearings?

senators have to vote allow witnesses now because..... that part was supposed to have been done in the house.
The Republican facade is ever so fragile.
Marsha Blackburn just parroted the 'If the House wanted witnesses then the House should have called them' nonsense.
She all but dared the House to do it.
So maybe the House will have to do just that.

Trumpies used a super-secret server to stash Trump criminal and damaging phone calls and messages. One that is not for that purpose at all. Trump's presidency is all about seeking loopholes and hiding places for what Trump does and how he operates. We are still operating on an abridged and controlled reporting of the Zelensky phone call. Set it free.
How can Trump's lawyers say that the charges are not reasonable because they were not precisely first hand? There were plenty of testimonies given by highly placed officials like Yovanovich, Sondland and Vindman. But the next level up has been blocked by Trump and his minions.
Now that Bolton seems to breaking down the wall Trump put up, the Trumpies on this board should be happy as hell. Trump will have his own people testify and prove what a fine and honest man he is.
If the phone call was so perfect why was it hidden on a secret server?
Looks like a cover-up, smells like a cover-up, quacks like a cover-up.

Not word, the whole thought, "that part was supposed to have been done in the House" meaning it can't be done now, why, where in any in any legal code does it say that relevant evidence can't be introduced into a trial because it wasn't shown earlier to a Grand Jury? Even common sense dictates that thought is incorrect
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."
