Wow, that's just crazy!!
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-NY-Times.htmlBernie Sanders has opened up a lead in the latest Iowa poll just nine days before statewide caucuses, as support for Elizabeth Warren wanes.
A New York Times/Siena College poll released Saturday showed the Vermont senator with 25 percent of the likely vote in Iowa, leading all other Democratic presidential candidates by a margin of seven percent.
Sanders has gained six points since the last Times/Siena poll in October, while support for Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and former Vice President Joe Biden has remained steady at 18 percent and 17 percent, respectively, the latest poll showed. He is also leading some other opinion polls in the state.
Sanders' gains come at the expense of his fellow progressive, Massachusetts Senator Warren, whose support dropped to 15 percent from 22 percent in the October poll, the Times reported.

Bernie is a coward who backs down at the first opportunity. Im amazed I didnt figure it out at first but look at his reaction to Clinton and the emails, Biden and Corruption, Unendorsing Cenk one of his most unapologetic supporters, and even letting the 2 black women take over his rally. Im amazed he hasnt given up Rogan yet.
Nobody has really challenged Bernie throughout his life and now that people are going after him specifically he is proving spineless.

Want to think of something crazy?
Sanders is taking the furthest left on healthcare of any American politician. He wants pretty much complete single payer, but not public ownership. Lets compare that to Britain, where public ownership is pretty much universally accepted.
So the furthest left in American politics is way to the right of Thatcher in British politics.

BLUEXITA Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red
Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.
It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.
This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

Well if that were the case, then fair enough I suppose. Although I seriously doubt if he'll be able to get single payer onto the statute books.
He also wants to get rid of fracking, nuclear and CCGT power generation which is truly suicidal. He has never had to confront serious opposition in his political life and I very much doubt that he is up to the job. He's almost as whacked out as Corbyn, and we all know what happened to him. By all means put him up against Trump, he'll fold like a cheap suitcase.

I am pro-nuclear power, but I have to admit nuclear power is being phased out in America. At least Sanders is honest about phasing it out, unlike Republicans who are doing it through the backdoor.
There has not been a new nuclear power start in 50 years. The last application that led to a nuclear power plant was in 1969. Obama tried to get some new starts, but only a few moderate Democrats were willing to support him. He got some loan guarantees slipped into budgets, but it was a fight to get a little advancement. trump is at best not willing to use any of his political capital for nuclear power, and at worst hostile to nuclear power. All the nuclear power plants are getting ready to retire. If you assume trump is reelected, and given the decade or two of lead time for a nuclear power plant, there will be no nuclear power in America sometime in the foreseeable future.
Nuclear powers only hope is a moderate Democrat like Biden or Warren. Both are pragmatic, so might support nuclear power.
Hillary Clinton is not "serious opposition"? She was able to beat trump in the popular vote, so if she is not serious opposition, then trump must be a real joke.
Sanders has 50 years of election history. He has won and lost elections. He has faced off against almost every conceivable kind of candidate. Your statement is wishful thinking.
He might not be up to the job. But he is definitely better than trump.
Sanders can keep focussed on a topic, and can remember facts and arguments about a topic. trump has some major problems with the focus, and memory one would expect from a sane person. He contradicts himself within a sentence. He curses like a stroke victim. He starts screaming random things like "I like Ike" for minutes at a time. He actually humped the American Flag out of "patriotism", and claims he gets military advice from a raisin.
We need someone who will confront trump in a debate. But, that assumes that trump is stupid enough to actually show up to a debate. There is a very real chance trump will refuse to debate.
I do think that trump's supporters would be able to go after Sanders. Sanders is a light socialist, fairly moderate by international standards, but by American terms far left. This gives a good opening for the Fox News crowd to attack.
But trump himself would do terrible against Sanders in a debate.
I meant opposition from across the aisle, not from his own party. I think Trump will be the happiest man on Earth if Sanders wins the nomination.
As for nuclear power there have been several so your info is out of date. Watts-Barr Unit 2 came online in 2016 albeit it took 20 years to get to that stage and there are the two AP1000 3rd. gen reactors at the Vogtle plant in Georgia due to go live next year.
The future is 4th gen. and there are many companies out there developing SMR technology, it is impossible to phase out fossil fuels without new nuclear anyone that tells you different is an imbecile.

Sanders won a hard fought general election by 10 votes. I think you are fooling yourself if you think Sanders has never in his 50 years of politics fought a tough election.
Obama did figure out a way to expand a previous nuclear power plant, which was a backdoor way to get a nuclear power plant. There probably are not other open applications that a future Obama could do that on. As for being wrong, actually the application for Watts Bar was in 1969, which is over 50 years ago. Construction began in 1973.
Lets say that trump is reelected. He leaves office in 2024, replaced by lets say Warren. If she works hard for two years, she might be able to get applications in by 2026. Then getting applications approved by 2030. Construction starts, and we have our first new nuclear power plant in 2040. How many nuclear power plants will we have by 2040?
You're referring to Watts-Barr unit 1, here are the details regarding unit 2. It was without doubt an unmitigated shambles. By contrast China has 24 new nuclear reactors either under construction or recently gone on-stream. Oh you conveniently forgot about Vogtle units 3 and 4 so let me remind you!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watts_Bar_Nuclear_PlantAlthough Unit 2 originally began construction on September 1, 1973, construction was halted on September 17, 1985 due to regulatory and economic factors. Construction was subsequently resumed on October 15, 2007, and the plant was completed on October 19, 2016, 43 years after construction first started (although the plant was only under active construction for 21 of those years).

There are two units that Obama was able to get by everyone, because they were unfinished parts of applications from the 1960s. The last application that was approved (and stayed approved) was Watts Bar(one R, not two Rs), and that was in 1969. I doubt there are other pre-approved applications left from the 1960's.
If nuclear power is not going to get phased out, we need to start accepting new applications.
