Sanders is taking the furthest left on healthcare of any American politician. He wants pretty much complete single payer, but not public ownership. Lets compare that to Britain, where public ownership is pretty much universally accepted.

So the furthest left in American politics is way to the right of Thatcher in British politics.

Do you really, really believe that a fanatical stone Socialist will be the nominee?

Do you really, really want a Socialist economic unit to replace free markets and Capitalism?

There are two units that Obama was able to get by everyone, because they were unfinished parts of applications from the 1960s. The last application that was approved (and stayed approved) was Watts Bar(one R, not two Rs), and that was in 1969. I doubt there are other pre-approved applications left from the 1960's.

If nuclear power is not going to get phased out, we need to start accepting new applications.

Biden is a weak candidate and I think there’s been some ‘Burisma effect’ that’s affected his numbers.

I am pro-nuclear power, but I have to admit nuclear power is being phased out in America. At least Sanders is honest about phasing it out, unlike Republicans who are doing it through the backdoor.

There has not been a new nuclear power start in 50 years. The last application that led to a nuclear power plant was in 1969. Obama tried to get some new starts, but only a few moderate Democrats were willing to support him. He got some loan guarantees slipped into budgets, but it was a fight to get a little advancement. trump is at best not willing to use any of his political capital for nuclear power, and at worst hostile to nuclear power. All the nuclear power plants are getting ready to retire. If you assume trump is reelected, and given the decade or two of lead time for a nuclear power plant, there will be no nuclear power in America sometime in the foreseeable future.

Nuclear powers only hope is a moderate Democrat like Biden or Warren. Both are pragmatic, so might support nuclear power.



Hillary Clinton is not "serious opposition"? She was able to beat trump in the popular vote, so if she is not serious opposition, then trump must be a real joke.

Sanders has 50 years of election history. He has won and lost elections. He has faced off against almost every conceivable kind of candidate. Your statement is wishful thinking.



He might not be up to the job. But he is definitely better than trump.



Sanders can keep focussed on a topic, and can remember facts and arguments about a topic. trump has some major problems with the focus, and memory one would expect from a sane person. He contradicts himself within a sentence. He curses like a stroke victim. He starts screaming random things like "I like Ike" for minutes at a time. He actually humped the American Flag out of "patriotism", and claims he gets military advice from a raisin.

We need someone who will confront trump in a debate. But, that assumes that trump is stupid enough to actually show up to a debate. There is a very real chance trump will refuse to debate.

Please stop with the Hillary beat Trump in the overall popular vote nonsense until you can show me in the Constitution that's how we elect a President.
