On the contrary Frank, there’s ZERO mandate for the Senate to produce any evidence. While the Senate has the option by a majority vote to allow further evidence, it’s still the prosecutors and or the defense to provide such evidence. Your rabid mad junkyard dog Democrat prosecutors will have to produce the evidence and witnesses they want and likewise for the Republican defense in accord with whatever the Senate agrees on by a majority vote. Otherwise Frank the SENATORS are simply the jury.

As I’ve told you Frank, the House didn’t do it because they didn’t want to take a trump Executive Privilege claim to court and risk being defeated in court or having the House case drag on through the election. They, (Nancy & her henchmen Schiff & Naddler) wanted get it into the Senate at exactly the right time to tie up Bernie and Warren in the Senate and keep them off of the campaign trail and give Biden an open shot at the nomination and accuse the Senate Republicans of an attempted cover up and try to flip the Senate in the election with such a preposterous smear.

It’s not up to the Chief Justice Frank! The Senate must vote in majority for more witnesses or no more witnesses. The only authority the Chief Justice has is to settle any disputes between the prosecution and the defense on the “relevance” of particular witnesses to the actual charges.

Please be honest. The administration prohibited his entire administration and anyone who was near it from testifying and providing documentation.

No official claim in my recollection was ever made for Executive Privilege, nor did the House committees ever “subpoena” any administration witness or documents.

That is the action of a guilty man. he does not want the truth to be known.

There’s ZERO doubt in my mind that if Democrats truly believed any of that, they’d have burned the treads off of their shoes getting to the court to deliver their subpoenas. No such action ever happened. Instead the House committees delivered two preposterous articles of impeachment to the Speaker Of The House where she sat on them for a month where the court could have been deciding the delivery or no delivery of the witnesses and documents Democrats claimed they wanted.

The witnesses they had established the case. Sondland, and Yovanovich were clear and convincing. The witnesses that were in the admin were prevented from doing their duty to the country.

No witnesses presented by the House committees presented a dime’s worth of evidence to show where Trump committed any crime let along any high crime and misdemeanor.

Do you think this is a game of hide and seek? Trump is hiding everything he can. The hope is he can't keep it up any longer. The country would be better off knowing the truth.

I’ve argued that in impeachments the House is solely responsible for declaring impeachments, providing witnesses and documents and making the case for impeachments. The Senate is solely responsible for hearing the House impeachment case and acting as the jury to decide innocence or guilt of the party impeached by the House.

Impeachments Frank aren’t “trials” in the traditional scope and format of all other trials in America. Impeachments are a “SPECIAL” constitutional format for “SPECIAL” government constitutional authorities laid out by the Constitution and subjected to the “Political” rules and agreements by votes, by the two Houses of the Congress. The Chief Justice is simply there to see that the operation is conducted civilly and in accord with the rules of the Senate and to decide the validity and or relevancy of disputes between the parties contending.
