    OP:

Again, not thinking for himself at all. Not realizing that it is not possible to measure the temperature of the Earth. We have nowhere near enough thermometers.
Both NOAA and NASA are publishing random numbers as 'data'.

    That's government agencies for ya.
Did you just started a post and then respond to yourself twelve times afterwards? For real?

Nope. The 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics and the Stefan-Boltzmann law are very real theories of science.

Yes it is. Radiant heating of the Earth by the Sun follows all the laws of thermodynamics.

Heat is not energy. It is not contained in anything. The Sun heating the Earth IS heat. Heat is the flow of thermal energy. It is not the thermal energy itself. It can occur by conductance, convection, or radiance.

Also a form of heating, this time by the Earth into space.

Nope. You can't trap light. You can't trap heat. You can't trap thermal energy. There is always heat.

It doesn't. Earth has no insulation. Earth is Earth.

The atmosphere does not insulate the Earth. It is part of the Earth. Heat can flow by radiance.

You cannot trap light. You cannot trap heat. You cannot trap thermal energy. There is always heat.

You cannot reduce the radiance of Earth and increase its temperature at the same time. (Stefan-Boltzmann law).

Not responding to myself. I am forwarding a thread from the kiddie pool. Pay attention.

Night is actually arguing that insulation is impossible.

Without any insulation, the Earth would be as cold as the surrounding space. That is very cold.

And the walls do not insulate the house; they are part of the house?

Insulation does not trap heat. It REDUCES heat.

At the top of the atmosphere, it IS as cold as the surrounding space. Here on the surface, we have an atmosphere. It takes time to heat it, and it takes time to cool it. It is the same with heating and cooling the surface.

There is no insulation in Earth's atmosphere.

They do, but remember, there is a furnace inside the house. Without that furnace, the house is the same temperature as the outside.
