Obama could say the same, and yet trump won the election. Americans are not happy with this "booming economy". This is not just in the USA, but around the world people are voting based on identity rather than economics.
You are starting to enter a fantasy world there. Consumer confidence did soar, under Obama. It went from the lowest ever seen to a reasonable point. It rose a little when trump came to office, as his supporters got hope. And it has been stagnant since. Part of the problem is people do not have more money in their pockets, they have more debt.
