snopes forgot to put the false label on this one........the law says that violators are guilty of a misdemeanor.........one may be jailed for a misdemeanor, but one only goes to prison for felonies.....and even that is only for librarians who deliberately disseminate books of nudity, sexuality, sexual conduct, sexual excitement, or sadomasochistic abuse to young children........I'm sort of surprised you don't want to keep that from happening......

The exact word that was used was "imprison" which means being held in captivity in a prison OR a prison like place. Which means you can be imprisoned in a jail, and you can be imprisoned for a misdemeanor. Sorry to ruin your technicality.

The fact remains that librarians could be imprisoned for up to a year under this law.

Now you may think that is merited. You may think that offering access to books you do not like to children under the age of 18 should be a crime with imprisonment of up to a year... But lets not argue the fictional technicality then. Defend the law, don't lie about the law.

just because some dimwitted lib'rul newsfuck used the word "imprisoned" does not mean the law actually threatens to send librarians to prison......that's just one of the gimmicks that the lefthanded media use to fool stupid people into starting threads like this one.......by the way, you CAN be imprisoned in this country for lots of things that are not as bad as providing books about sexual abuse and nudity to five year olds.........

some is merited, some is not depending on your opinion........personally I think that if you want to give your young children books which are not age appropriate you should be required to go to the store and buy it yourself instead of having the public library provide it for you........

sorry to disappoint you but I'm not going to fall for your silly claim I am lying about the law.......particularly in a thread specifically intended to lie about the law....

It means they would be imprisoned in jail. If you think that putting librarians in jail is a good idea, then defend it. But using a lot of curse words and arguing that it is jail and not prison really seems pointless to me.

Everything about the original post is correct. Librarians would be imprisoned in jail under this law.

You can currently be imprisoned for providing books about sexual abuse to five year olds. This law extends that to make it far more intrusive and with the goals of putting librarians in jail for providing anything that is deemed borderline.

Once again, if you think we are too permissive of a society, and could use far more censorship, then defend that position, but rude illogical outbursts get you nowhere.

    Indeed.

No librarians are going to prison.

Even real criminals like the Clinton crime family do not go to jail.

Is that a problem or a common practice where you live, pimp?

Is your local public library handing out hard core or even soft core porn to children?

Wouldn't surprise me that someone like you would live in such a perverted, immoral community but as far as I or anyone else knows, it's not happening anywhere else.

This is just another sleazy, "back door" (pun intended) attempt by the religious rube right to ban any material related to lifestyles you are scared that you all might harbor secret, hidden desires to engage in yourselves.

IOW, you fucks are all so repulsed by your own latent homosexual urges, you think that if you stomp out all references to it, your little fantasies about showering with NFL and college football players will go away.

Must be something about those tight uniform pants they wear.

I've already done that......as a bonus I've pointed out the error in the OP........for some reason you are wasting your time defending it......don't bother......

not really....but raw story has done a good job of getting weak minded lib'ruls to think it does......

but rude illogical outbursts get you nowhere.
my rude outbursts are intentional.......however, they are never illogical......
