When I went to school, in the 1970's and 1980's, it would have been unheard of for children to drink coke as part of a school lunch.
Kids are not going to starve to death if we require them to eat vegetables. We have been making them eat vegetables for generations, and they are more healthy for it. This attitude that kids should be allowed to eat whatever they want is causing rising obesity, which is really killing people.
America has had three straight years of dropping life expectancy. This does not happen anywhere except places like Syria. Even North Korea was able to reverse it after two years. This is a slow moving disaster.
Last time it happened in America, we had WWI, and the Spanish Flu killing people. Those both came to ends. These current problems have no end in sight.

That is the difference between "FASCISM" and a republican format of government...…..the fascist wants to control all aspects of its "SUBJECTS" (under fascism people are not considered people but subjects, peons to rule over)…..republicanism promotes self government (freedom) and promotes choices that are unchallenged with the only exception being when one individual crosses the threshold of infringing upon the unlimited rights of other equal citizens.
In other words....the FASCIST walks around with a stick up their ass pretending to know what's better for everyone because the fascist is somehow, elite and more intelligent than those he reigns LORD OVER.
IDEA: The parent controls the diet of his/her own children until such time as its proven that the parent is not fit to be a parent. Education of our children should be controlled at the local and state level. Who gives a damn what some self professed elite asshole wants in DC?
FYI: Bloomberg is also of the elitist opinion that the entire United States of America should mirror the conditions established in the state of California. Yeah....the entire nation should have to step over the homeless, dirty needles, shit, garbage..etc., ....while being forced to drink from paper straws, while sharing their resources with international criminal elements.

I was home at Christmas from DC and remember a friend of mine (trust fund kid, but he still had to work) in his preppy attire--navy jacket, rep tie, khakis sitting in an upright wing chair sipping bourbon. He questioned why I thought it was necessary for emergency funding, during REAGAN, to subsidize home heating oil in DC so people didn't freeze to death--particularly the elderly. And, I quote him...
"Survival of the fittest"
(Many did freeze to death that year).
