We are discussing whether eating vegetables in lunches is a good idea or not. You are claiming that children will starve if we give them a well balanced lunch, and so should give them candy for lunch.

We're discussing school breakfasts and lunches...I didn't say anything about no vegetables or giving them candy...
Tell me what you consider a balanced, appropriate breakfast and lunch for a HS student...let's say one who has an athletic practice after school...or goes directly to their job....or to a home with maybe..or maybe not...dinner....

Children have been eating candy, pizza, cake and drinking soft drinks for generations.

In moderation, there is little harm.

No one has said that their school lunches should consist of only desserts and pizza.
