Default CARTOONS will ensue...New SPACE FORCE uniforms are unveiled, "woodland camo"

Okay, let's say they were trying to SAVE MONEY and used existing 'stock' for the new uniforms. Better yet, let's say that the SPACE FORCE will last until the day after Trump is gone and the Pentagon didn't want to waste any money. BUT I could have a prototype uniform made for under $1000 tomorrow. (A $1000 is a rounding error for a NICKEL in Pentagon finance).

Doesn't bode well for competency or common sense if this was an actual newly minted DESIGN.

(I'm telling yah there will be cartoons in the next couple of days).

Why do we need camo in space’: Trump’s Space Force ridiculed for woodland camouflage uniforms

On Friday, the United States Space Force released an image of their new uniforms on Twitter.

The image shows a Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) for a four-star general in a woodland camouflage pattern, with a matching camo nametape.

However, many people were confused as to why the Space Force would use uniforms designed to blend in on earth.

They took the US Space Command and turned it into the Space Force. That's the uniform now worn by the Air Force, which was recently hoisted upon us because the Army has been wearing it. We can still wear the Airman Battle Uniform until April of 2021.

Also, it's not the BDU. It just has the same pattern on it. The correct name is Occupational Camouflage Pattern (OCP).

Keep in mind that when the Air Force was first established, we inherited the Army greens as our uniform, and the junior enlisted were called "privates," for several years before being updated to "Airmen."

I was on the right track, use existing 'stock'. Honestly, I can tell you I wouldn't have caught this one. Once it was pointed out I laughed out loud. I have visions of old NASA space suits covered in camo print.

The AF always had better 'everything' as far as I remember. I'm an old Navy brat. AF had better titles. Better looking uniforms. Bases were always nicer. "Commissaries" and "exchanges" seemed nicer and had better stuff. Wasn't on many but that's how I remember it.

(Of course sailors felt superior. We were in the "air" community, the old line was that the AF landed on long cement runways, "our" guys landed on postage stamps 'bobbing' in the middle of the ocean).

In space, no one can hear you laugh...

The reason to create a new force would be if the existing forces did not have the resources to serve a new problem, and if you are willing to invest the hundreds of billions(or trillions) into creating new resources. Obviously, West Point and the existing US Army resources could not train soldiers for navy duty, so we invested trillions into having the US Navy.

We all know that trump will not spend the hundreds of billions necessary to have a real new force. We are not about to see a Space Force Academy, and dozens of Space Force bases around the world. We certainly will not see a whole new network of thousands of Space Force recruiting stations throughout America.

In this age of force integration, it would be not just wasteful, but actually damaging to preparedness to tear "Space Force" out of the other services.

This is just a sham to make trump feel like he does not have a small penis.

Just do it like the Marine Corps does. Send the cadets through Colorado Springs, maintain a small force structure, etc.

No one enlists in the Marines to serve in the Navy. To create a force, you need a distinctive esprit de corps. People cannot just swap into and out of a force. You need to provide a career path for everyone for their entire career.

    All of this costs money.

There is a reason that there is not an Artillery Force.

I mean Annapolis. They ask for Midshipmen to volunteer to pledge for the Marines during the third year.

Obviously, enlisted basic training and ROTC will be separate. Also, with our meager space tech, the USSF will be continuing the mission of Space Command. It's new mission will be to defend and maintain our orbital infrastructure, support with NASA on its mission, and not much else.

It seems like too small of a mission to guarantee that almost all the Space Force personnel can spend a 20 to 40 year career only in the Space Force.

Some people find that stuff interesting. Keep in mind, I have never flown onboard an AF asset. All my flights have been commercial. Most astronauts will never get close to going into orbit.

my guess is, when they get on a space ship they will be wearing something different......

Dear lord, the same people who oppose spending on NASA exploration now want us to build "space ships" for the "Space Force". How many trillions of dollars do we really want to spend on trump's sad joke?

Let me make this as clear as possible. There is absolutely no reason to put manned military missions in outer space within the next few decades. There are very good reasons for defending our satellites(and possibly destroying other's satellites), but that does not require manned missions. The staff of a "Space Force" will sit at computer monitors on earth.

let's be honest......this has nothing to do with space........its just your hatred of everything Trump.......don't waste our time with your false poutrage......

Yeah, when I was in there still were a few guys who wore the olive drab class A's...but just a few. One happened to be a OSI officer masquerading as an enlisted man in my squadron. He got outed when he busted someone for having "Daily Worker" editions in his footlocker.
