I guarantee if Bernie Sanders were President and doing this people on the right would (rightfully) be screaming out against this and people on the left would be supportive and say he's sticking up for the working/little guy.
But it is consistent with Populist ideology.

This is true. What's interesting is you'll find some of his supporters call Trump a populist while others get offended at that and consider Trump the most conservative Republican since Reagan. So I'm speaking about those who call themselves conservative and back it...

(now to be clear not all conservatives or liberals believe exactly the same thing. Two people can be conservative and have differing beliefs on an issue. I personally don't find trade wars and tariffs consistent with free market economic beliefs)

Don't worry about Sailor, all his e- enemies have miserable lives. If you want to be rich and handsome in his eyes, just say you agree with him about something.

Your lack of ability to psychoanalyze is only surpassed by your complete lack of knowledge of the law. You may go now.

chasing cheap slave products is what led to the massive job loss. consumers will pay more, and will have jobs in return.

globalist zealotry has failed as a guiding principle of mankind.

Where is he wrong? From Reagan onward, Republicans were more free trade oriented.

Before Reagan, tariffs were more bipartisan in nature, but FDR stands as one of the most protectionist presidents in the 1900s.

And Nixon was the one who opened up trade with China.
