New York Fed and academic researchers found that U.S. consumers and companies have borne the brunt of the president’s trade war.

We can file this news under D for "Duh." lol I don't know about you guys, but we paid slightly under $200 more for a new fridge last summer than we would have if we'd bought it a year earlier. Part of that increase was due to tariffs. Fortunately we could afford it. What about ppl who are struggling?

That's right, tariffs are taxes on consumers and business. And this has been a perfect example of why partisan politics is such a cluster F. You have supposed free traders on the right now supporting tariffs and anti-free traders on the left who now found religion on free trade and are anti tariffs.
I guarantee if Bernie Sanders were President and doing this people on the right would (rightfully) be screaming out against this and people on the left would be supportive and say he's sticking up for the working/little guy.
except there is little inflation
bullshit
read the history of tariffs imposed by US administrations, then stfu

But how can that be? How can increasing the cost of business increase the cost of the product?

good link. unfortunately tariffs are all we can use against China - and getting China to remove their excess tariffs, open markets, not steal IP etc . is a macroeconomic necessity. It has to be done.
Phase 1 signed next week! China might wait out the election for the rest.

A new analysis by Yahoo Finance has confirmed what we have been telling people from the start of Trump’s trade war: The tariffs that he has put in place have been 100% paid by US consumers. This new analysis should become a talking point for every person running for office in 2020, pointing out how much Trump’s policies have hurt regular Americans.
BLUEXITA Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red
Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.
It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.
This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

Really? https://www.usinflationcalculator.co...flation-rates/ Trump is cranking it up. I suppose you have the authority to declare when it is big or little.
