We spend only half of what you do on health, which, though more effective, is rather too little. It would be just like the impeachment hearings. The Democrats would present evidence, the Republicans would deflect and attack the Democrats.
Like I said before, I'd be fine with a trial, but at this point, it would be a waste of time.

The DOJ is not barred from taking things to an actual court. It's only out of tradition that they go the Congressional route.

You don't see how gaging physicians from helping their patients might prevent them from helping their patients?

If you look at the details of the law, it doesn't prevent all discussions involving asking about firearm ownership.

The law bans doctors in the state from asking their patients about guns, and from entering information about guns into patients' medical records. However, doctors are allowed to do both of these things under the law provided they believe it is relevant to the medical care or safety of their patients or the safety of others.

In short, it just ensures that guns are only brought up when it's relevant, like with someone depressive.
