"His conduct is precisely the type of threat to our democracy that the Founders feared when they included the remedy of impeachment in the Constitution."
The letter comes after four other legal scholars testified at the first House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing Wednesday, with three of them making the case for impeaching Trump.
The dozens of academics -- hailing from a variety of educational institutions including Yale, Columbia and Rutgers -- said in the letter that they were not taking a stance on whether Trump committed a crime.

"But conduct need not be criminal to be impeachable," the group added. "The standard here is constitutional; it does not depend on what Congress has chosen to criminalize."
They pointed to treason and bribery as the two potential charges prompting impeachment "because they include conduct undertaken not in the 'faithful execution' of public office that the Constitution requires, but instead for personal gain (bribery) or to benefit a foreign enemy (treason).""

Someone isn't a scholar because they say what you want to hear. You're confused.

PT's definition of "scholar" is someone that agrees with him.

This is surely the the results of a dysfunctional education system...

...and obviously, you're a part of it's dysfunction.
Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

    hogwash.
the MS press is fake news and there are lots of examples. Just this week CNN covered the Horowitz hearings,
but cut away from Lindsey Graham. Of course the only coverage the had was "no bias" and not the slew of FISA abuse

They do it all the time, and the fact you can't see this means you need to diversify your sourcing-
nothing to do with "education" -except being curious enough to search

I don't watch commercial for-profit news media as a habit.

I like NPR, PBS Newshour, BBC, DW, and NHK. And since I use this forum as a platform to spark my own online research, I often am aware of stories before I see them on TV or hear them on the radio.

If you want to post knowledgeably just look at the thread titles, use those for searchwords. Then browse a bit, select sources you think are the best, and read up. Then, when you post about that discussion, you are better informed for your comment. Or at least read the link from the OP. I was amazed one time I did a thread and it had over a hundred replies and I went back to the OP link and realized I had done it improperly so it didn't work. LOL, and nobody said anything about it. LOL. That's when ya know most people here don't click the links or bother to read and learn.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.
