Having a dysfunctional education system helps the Republican party tremendously.

If people were better educated they would be better able to distinguish fact from opinion. Since so many Americans are unable to do this, it allows 'infotainment' opinion shows like Fox to be swallowed as fact, when really, the are mostly opinion, cherry-picking and spin.

Democrats and their unions control the dysfunctional education system.

    They own it.

Their dysfunctional educational system harms their dependent voters.

which is why the republican party has refused to fund public schools properly

every time the subject comes up they automatically say "throwing money at the problem"

pretending for some reason that schools can be improved WITHOUT MONEY

so you agree schools need more funding?

or do you just want more school shootings because you hate schools, education and children

^ This is a very good explanation of how we ended up with a game show host for POTUS.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

The guy they saw on TV and the same person in real life were two very different people.

How do you take a guy who is famous for spectacular bankruptcy and repackage him as a 'great businessman?'

    The magic of TV.

Republicans have a toxic skepticism of science, knowledge, facts, institutions, government, achievers, schools, and knowledge.
They think uneducated and unsuccessful parents should shackle their children's ankles to their own mediocrity and
to their negative social environment. They hate well funded vibrant public schools that uplift, teach and socialize children
in a loving, caring and violence free environment.
