    LMAO... that is complete nonsense.

The MEDIAN income is $47,000. No way the 50%-40% dropoff is that steep.

Note that your article doesn't provide a source for that claim?

Great Employment Numbers: 44% of Fully Employed Make $18,000 a Year or Less
    December 10, 2019

Beneath the rosy employment report lives a reality of low-paying part-time and temporary work with no benefits or security.

Serious? Which are they talking about? Full time or part time/temp?

I did read it. It is nonsense and does not give data. You click on the "study" and it also does not give data. Again, the median income in the US is about $47,000. Yet this OP's article claims 44% of full time workers make less than $18k???

    That makes NO sense.

there is nothing more in the article about it besides the claim the OP quotes in the title.........apparently the author just made it up and katzgar believed him.......

$47,000 a year is not that great either, and here's a couple of other links that covers people living from paycheck to paycheck.

Agree, that cannot be correct. The median income in 2018 was $61,937 (not $47,000).

    https://www.census.gov/library/stori...from-2017.html

The bottom 20% income upper limit was $24,638 (2017) and the average income for that group was $13,258
The second 20% income upper limit was $47,110 and the average income for that group was $35,401

    http://www.census.gov/data/tables/ti...ouseholds.html

The income for the second 20% ranged from $24,638 to $47,110. So, the entire second quintile (20% of wage earners) had incomes above $18,000. That means the percentage of people with incomes under $18,000 was less than 20%.
