I can suggest a couple of reasons he does that:

1) calling you individually “a member of the Democratic Party of the United States” is a pain in the ass, and even stupider to have to write it out

2) truncating your preferred moniker to “the democratics” makes you sound like some kind of Motown group from the 60’s

3) google “democrats.org”, it seems to be what you’re calling yourselves now. I think you might be trying to distance yourselves from the jackass too because you’re going to the blue “D” in the blue circle. Meaningless to me, because I’ll always think of you as jackasses anyway.

4) finally, the wiki article explains it pretty well, there’s a better than even chance that it pisses you off
