The fading climate denial movement is largely composed of elderly white men.
This is germane because these Deniers are not far from the grave, and thus really couldn't give a rats ass about an environmental problem that they perceive as being decades away at best.

Be honest when your kids were young teenagers did they think about the enviorment or politics. Normal kids think about teen idols, the opposite sex, dating, driving etc.
No I believe she was most likely driven by her parents which is sad. They are robbing this child of her childhood.

Yet another of the degenerate piece of shits lies.

How long will you fear mongers cling to the 'you a climate denier' nonsense? Who has 'denied' the climate changes? Just cite your examples of such.

Or admit you are the dishonest piece of shit we all know you to be.

Maybe this has already been discussed but anyone surprised the protesters in Hong Kong didn't win?

It's hard to have spent your entire life fucking up the planet - maybe unconsciously- and then to be identified an an ecocidal asshole by your kids. Look at the Brit maggot, for example- SCRABBLING for any iota of contrary climate ideology. Still- the kids ought to be merciless.

To sell it at twice the price to a Republican climate denier.

Yet he hasn't. Despite the fact he proclaimed the sea levels would rise dramatically by now. Shocking.

There will always be Denier mugs further down the road. He can show them round in a dinghy- they'd still buy the property AND the denial.

No I believe she was most likely driven by her parents which is sad. They are robbing this child of her childhood.
My kids were and are capable of being interested in more than one thing at a time, including causes dear to their heart.

If a kid is a musical prodigy, would you say that letting her participate in concerts -- even ones where she has to travel to play -- is "depriving" her of a childhood? What if the kid is a chess master and wants to participate in tournaments in other cities? What if he's a star athlete and travels with his team to sporting events far away, practices constantly, and is far more interested in the sport than in academics?

Your concern for Ms. Thunberg is misplaced. Kids can and do engage in many activities that involve missing school, travel, and being out of their comfort zone. They are still enjoying their youth, and they are not pawns of anyone. If that kind of thing bothers you, look at the child beauty contests and the cheerleading fixation that some parents have involving their kids. That shit is a lot worse than an intelligent engaged child who is courageous enough to want to speak out on an issue that she feels passionate about.

What this really is about is the kid is not espousing something that RWers approve of. If she was traveling the world speaking out about liberals, socialism, "conservative values", or in support of personal firearms ownership you all would be cheering her on.

kids can't contract for good reason. kids aren't very bright - and yours are surely at the lower end of things too.

I played football, basketball, baseball, played cello, chased girls, and I also avidly read about politics and world news in Newsweek, Time, the Washington Post, National Review. My parents had a subscription to newsweek, and I literally think I read it almost from cover to cover every week. I watched Agronsky and Company every week.

I knew enough about the environment to know intuitively that I wanted clean rivers to fish in, and conservation of public lands so I could camp and hike. My Mother explained to me the Vietnam protests I was seeing, even though I was only in second and third grades.

My father gave me a good grounding in the Soviet Union, the Gulag, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and the Cold War. I was keenly aware of the space race, the moon landings, and the significance of Nixon's visit to china. And I hadn't even kissed my first girl yet!

I cannot say my life was representative, but I had friends who certainly had a keen interest in politics and our public commons. I really do not think I was some kind of prodigy. I think teenagers and young adults are often given less credit than they deserve.
