Default Weak Twin Pillars of Impeachment

    Weak Twin Pillars of Impeachment:
add the 2 Articles together and they don't even equal out to a "high crime or misdemeanor".
Dershowitz used the term "twin sisters" - same thing- but the 'twin pillars' are the weak/nebulous charges
    of faux impeachment

    1. Trump is a lying sack of shit. Nobody can believe a word he says.
    2. Trump is turning the 3 Branches of Government into a 1 Branch of Government.

So, when the Pendulum swings the other way and Democrats are in the White House, don't be surprised that there is no 'Congressional Oversight'.

I’m interested to see how the vote falls lol.

If I’m a Democrat member from anywhere but a hyper blue district I’m having second thoughts about this vote.

    Forget the republicans—they’re lost.

‘Passing ugly’ is a very real prospect for Democrats.

I don’t see the articles not passing the House but republicans will very likely stay unified and if a sufficient number of Democrats jump ship the House will send articles to the Senate—in spite of bipartisan opposition.

And it’s not like they weren’t warned of this. If I’m a Democrat member I’m looking for an upside to my Impeachment vote and I’m not seeing much.

Nasty Nancy Pelosi is prolly the most capable Speaker since Newt, and in many ways even better at keeping dim wits in lock step.

That said, it would be real funny if her impeachment vote failed, (doubt it will, butt: very funny if it did). burp...

With regards to #2 how exactly is he doing that?

Has he defied court rulings? What exactly has he done that has made you sad and think we are turning into a dictatorship?

Or have you just been watching too much MSNBC?

Nadler’s absolutely underwhelming articles of impeachment
    https://nypost.com/2019/12/10/jerry-...f-impeachment/

Democrats have been confused on just what Trump did wrong. All their early talk of a “quid pro quo” in Trump’s July phone call with Ukraine’s president turned (after some polling) into charges of “bribery” and “extortion.”
Yet all those terms are absent from Nadler’s articles.

He offers one on “abuse of power,” which covers all the efforts to get Ukraine to investigate
    1) 2016 meddling and 2) the company that hired Hunter Biden.
But it doesn’t explain how Trump “compromised the national security of the United States and undermined the integrity of the United States democratic process” or solicited interference in the 2020 election.

Schiff contends Trump wanted “sham investigations” from Ukraine.
But the inquiry produced not a single person or document suggesting Trump wanted Ukraine to frame his potential 2020 rival.

Nadler’s other article is for “obstruction of Congress,” centering on the White House’s
refusal to cooperate with House hearings, ordering various officials not to testify.

Yet the legislative and executive branches fight all the time over compelling such testimony:
It’s up to the judicial branch to resolve each battle — but House Democrats declined to go to court this time.

That’s likely why Nadler didn’t even go for an “obstruction of justice” article — one of the main counts in both the Nixon and Clinton impeachments.

Pelosi & Co. plainly figure they have to finish what they started —
but they’ve given up on doing more than a slapdash job of it.

There are several districts currently represented by blue members where the Cook PVI is a D+1 or Even. As for the blue districts with a high D PVI, those representatives had already decided they were going to vote for impeachment before Trump was inaugurated.
