Republicans are only able to support Trump because they ignore his lies.

Trump has been documented as the lyingest liar of all Presidents.

Republicans are so trained to look the other way after all of Trump's lies they have only but to repeat a well rehearsed Pavlovian response to the Impeachment.

Everybody was pissed. No wonder they had to have security escort the Trump people out. Later they found widespread destruction inside and safety devices out of date and disabled. Great management. Great deal maker.

Trump is always trying to screw somebody. This time he went too far. He is trying to screw the voters. We are not having it. 2020 needs to be a fair election.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

While the facts are clearly on the side of the Democrats, facts are no longer relevant in America politics.
Politics are now tribal. There's an "us" view and a "them" view.

Whenever I hear somebody say "The American people want this or that," I know that I'm listening to an idiot.
The American people reach consensus on NOTHING.

There are three nations living within the same borders.
There are sophisticated and enlightened progressive liberals.
There are backwards conservatives, inbred, diseased, and illiterate, who would serve a purpose if it could be discovered how to convert them into heating fuel.
And there are clueless non-ideologues who stand for nothing and are worth less than that for which they stand.

Only one of these factions is worthy of participating in our democracy, and since all three are muddling up the works, the American Experiment is now failing.
Understand this: NOBODY is going to "bring us together" because there is no collective "us."

Those of us worthy of the oxygen that we breath will get nowhere if we try to changes the hearts and minds of the heartless and the mindless.
We've got to make sure that OUR IDEOLOGY wins and that the meritless dregs of our society are not allowed to get in the way.

There is absolutely no doubt whatever that Trump is guilty of the second article of impeachment...namely that he obstructed a congressional investigation.

The spineless Republican senators will almost certainly vote not-guilty on that charge...and it will to be to their never-ending shame that they do it.

I think our side of this question will have to be satisfied with the knowledge that the Democrats in congress did the right thing in impeaching the abomination. And we can only hope that the election will take care of sending Trump back to stiffing contractors who are foolish enough to do business with him.

Good idea to ignore Trump's many many questionable business activities as they totally destroy the very basis upon which he ran and became President.

I'm glad you now agree that he deserves it.

I would like to see him brought up on criminal charges the moment his Presidency is over. I hope law enforcement is ready and waiting with the handcuffs during the Senate Trial just in case enough of the Republican Senators grow a sense of loyalty to their oath of office. As soon as President Trump is removed from office he should immediately be arrested and detained on multiple criminal charges including fraud and tax evasion.

And they should definitely take away his cell phone!

It's like Republicans have gone to the Roger Stone school of 'why Nixon was really innocent.'

Exoneration in the Senate, President Trump remains in office, nothing changes except accountability in 2020.

The attempt, by the radical Democrat Socialists, fails to remove a duly elected sitting president elected by the American voters.

Didn't you previously say you felt it would be destructive for our nation to impeach Trump?
At the time I took my vacation from the forum last spring, I was certain that impeachment would be an undertaking that would cause the Democrats political damage...and would almost certainly end up with an acquittal. I was dead-set against it.

Somehow, I came to my senses.

The escalating damaging conduct of the president simply cannot be ignored. Impeachment, in my opinion, has become an imperative for the safety of the Republic.

I still am sure the spineless Republican senators will acquit...and I am concerned that the Democrats WILL pay a price during the election, but I am delighted that they have the guts to do what is correct despite the possible cost. In the meantime, I am hoping the electorate is sophisticated enough to see impeachment as an imperative rather than as a negative.

I'm glad you now agree that he deserves it.
    So am I.

I would like to see him brought up on criminal charges the moment his Presidency is over. He does so much damage to himself with that cell phone, I'd just as soon he keep it for now. Once he is in a cell...the phone should be taken.

Trump absolutely obstructed a congressional investigation.

For some, that is hard to see because of the blindfold they have on.
