Some might 'hate' anyone but Bernie, but the general consensus was that Bernie was robbed. This time around, his polling is nowhere near what it was in '16. He's going to be around for quite some time because he's got tons of money. His platform was unique in '16, and that surely was a 'change' election.
I don't think there will be such animosity if Biden is the nominee.
I've talked to some of these people and they refuse to support anyone but Bernie. They think if Trump wins again, it somehow sends a message to the DNC. Which is completely fucking ridiculous, but that's the thought process.
Not sure how old these people are, but that's the same mentality as those who vote Third Party. They ignore that corporations will always own the govt, and it isn't going to change just because they voted for someone who isn't mainstream. In fact, '16 showed that when you think you're going to 'drain the swamp', you end up with the worst swamp in the history of govt.
Despite a 'record' turnout in '16, 50% of the electorate opted not to participate. For all the Bernie or busters, there are ten people who are determined to show trump the door. They've waited 4 years.
I don't think they'll be voting for Trump out of spite this time, considering what a disaster he's been, but they're also likely to stay home instead of voting at all
.
I agree. Nobody's getting fooled again. I guess it all depends on who they are. If they need health insurance. If they need birth control. If they believe in a woman's right to choose. It might just be the gun issues that drag them to the polls. Again...VP pick will be important.
Look at Obama's wins, and Trump's win, we see that the candidate with the passionate supporters win. The candidate with the supporters who are just supporting their party don't win.
Agree, but this election has passionate voters on both sides. trump has succeed in creating that passion. Now more than ever, half of the country is voting 'against' a candidate.
Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
