He also dislikes the new lightbulbs, they make him look orange. He had them change the lights in several rooms in the White House.

he needs to stop trying to flush the Mc Donnalds wrappings when he sits on the toilet and snacks

Trump says a lot of stupid things so there is no reason to take what he says out of context. From your link.
Earlier in the meeting, Trump also jokingly complained that energy-saving lightbulbs made him look bad, saying, "Of course, being a vain person, that's very important to me."

Well, that could be the case, he was joking, if I didn’t recall him doing it on several occasions before.

Back then, everyone was covering dark wood cabinets with Formica for a modern look. To strip/stain cabinets, the labor would cost more than simply buying new. In many cases, the boxes can be saved and new doors put on, but it's still pricey.

Whereas many believe that new cabinets aren't built as well as the old ones, with upgrades (plywood construction) you can get very good quality cabs. at HD/Lowes. I know the lines better than the 'designers', so I add other attachments that make stock cabinets look like custom ones.

But...if you are refinishing by yourself, and don't value your time, it's a nice feeling to reuse cabinetry. When I take kitchens out, I do give them to friends at times. I recently put a 1980's era (ugly as shit) kitchen in a friend's summer home basement. They have a garage door that when open, looks out over the lake. Now they have a full kitchen, and the basement is the hang out.
I love your remodeling stories. We love everything about this kitchen except for wanting to replace the current countertops with stone. Read your post to Christie; so marble has issues with staining?

Our cabinets are actual wood, maple I think. They're a light wood and solid. We won't be changing those out! Whoever built this house originally went with quality all the way... except for the countertops. Question for you: The main living area bathroom is right off the kitchen. If you replace the kitchen counters with stone, would you also use the same stone in that bathroom? Or a different color/type?

    Hello christiefan915,

On second thought I can picture trump voters doing that.
Obviously he is taking his own behavior and projecting it upon others.

When he says 'people are doing' that, he means HE is.
