The Middle Class is not “Normal”

There’s nothing “normal” about having a middle class. Having a middle class is a choice that a society has to make, and it’s a choice we need to make again in this generation, if we want to stop the destruction of the remnants of the last generation's middle class. Despite what you might read in the Wall Street Journal or see on Fox News, capitalism is not an economic system that produces a middle class. In fact, if left to its own devices, capitalism tends towards vast levels of inequality and monopoly. The natural and most stable state of capitalism actually looks a lot like the Victorian England depicted in Charles Dickens’ novels.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

    this scam CANT last forever

Parento was TOO correct for this to happen

He developed his 20/80 rule by studying the history of mankind

what that study showed him was when the elite 20% of the population own more than 80% of the wealthy on a society the 80+ and growing numbers of the population BEGIN TO REVOLT

we are well past 20/80 now

    history proves its revolt time

They cant win or sustain this level

when the 20% convince idiots of a society through propaganda to worship the 20% as the rightful RULERS you get fascism

they vote them in to power

then being convinced they are the NATURAL rulers they control everything they can

no more free market because a LESSOR may usurp them

    they CONTROL EVERYTHING they can

    Democracy dies or never forms

this is what the republican party is working for

He made several important contributions to economics, particularly in the study of income distribution and in the analysis of individuals' choices. He was also responsible for popularising the use of the term "elite" in social analysis.
He introduced the concept of Pareto efficiency and helped develop the field of microeconomics. He was also the first to discover that income follows a Pareto distribution, which is a power law probability distribution. The Pareto principle was named after him, and it was built on observations of his such as that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by about 20% of the population. He also contributed to the fields of sociology and mathematics, according to the mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot and Richard L. Hudson:
His legacy as an economist was profound. Partly because of him, the field evolved from a branch of moral philosophy as practised by Adam Smith into a data intensive field of scientific research and mathematical equations. His books look more like modern economics than most other texts of that day: tables of statistics from across the world and ages, rows of integral signs and equations, intricate charts and graphs.[5]

To quote Franz Borkenau, a biographer:
In the first years of his rule Mussolini literally executed the policy prescribed by Pareto, destroying political liberalism, but at the same time largely replacing state management of private enterprise, diminishing taxes on property, favoring industrial development, imposing a religious education in dogmas.[24]:18

This is the best article ever written on income inequality? Really? Insert Not Sure If Serious Gif here please.

Hartmann conveniently leaves out the geo-political realities of the post war era like the cold war, much of europe and Japan in rubles and China in the middle of the Cultural Revolution etc. Can we instantly recreate that scenario today? He also leaves out technological advancement. Do you really think the same jobs at GM that were available in the '50's were going to be available today and paying $50/hr? Sorry, the world has advanced. We are in a tech driven global economy. This isn't the '50's and '60's anymore.
