Hey Moon. Would you support the Pope being the President of the Unites States? Or maybe Jerry Fartwell?

    Moon. Do you like stories?

I'm on Ancestry and I've traced my line, well, one of them, to this guy that was on the SECOND ship to reach Plymouth Colony in 1621 (a year after the Mayflower in 1620). They were all 'Puritans' (English Separatists) that wanted to 'Purify' the Anglican Church in England. They were persecuted there, went to Leidan, Holland, and finally made it to the New World. He married a girl that came over on one of the third ships to come over in 1623. To make a long story short, his son and grandson converted to Quakers, and were removed from the Colony and moved to Pennsylvania where there was a Quaker colony.
The point being ... here were 'religious people' ... that were persecuted for their Beliefs ... now persecuting OTHER people for THEIR Beliefs.

"The Boston martyrs is the name given in Quaker tradition[1] to the three English members of the Society of Friends, Marmaduke Stephenson, William Robinson and Mary Dyer, and to the Friend William Leddra of Barbados, who were condemned to death and executed by public hanging for their religious beliefs under the legislature of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1659, 1660 and 1661. Several other Friends lay under sentence of death at Boston in the same period, but had their punishments commuted to that of being whipped out of the colony from town to town."

    Isn't that ironic?

Heh, your family lineage sounds a bit like ours. My middle daughter traced us back on my dad's side to some guy who came over in the 1630s nicknamed "The Puritan," Thomas Brigham. I'd say none of *his* genes made it down. lol

Yes. It is ironic. Each little Cult believing HIS God is the 'Real One'. Each Cult more than willing to 'Kill the Infidels' ... in the Name of God. From the vantage point of the 21st century, it seems so ignorant and stupid. 'Separation of Church and State', ... so crucial for a Modern Society.
