Never doubt the industrial might of the US nor the determination of the American people. The Japanese made that mistake when they attacked us.
Realistically, without the UK and the USSR, the United States would not have had the logistics, the manpower, the forward operating bases, to invade Europe, defeat the entirety of the German army, capture Berlin, and force an unconditional surrender on the smoldering remains of the Nazis.

Furthermore, you had an isolationist Republican Party in the United States who did not want to confront Nazi Germany in the first place, did not want to get involved in Europe, and would have done everything in their power to make FDR seek an accommodation with Germany, if FDR had had to face a brutal and far-from-winnable slugfest with Germany by himself, without UK and USSR

Well, the story may be slightly different from what I said in some minor details - like the America Firsters were ridddled with Nazi sympathizers and might have tried to raise a rebellion if Roosevelt had gone in before Dec 7, 1941.

    Hint: look up irony

You may recall a couple years ago Trump announcing that Lincoln was a Republican?

So enlighten me: what should Lincoln have done, surrendered?

So Lincoln was wrong? We should have allowed the South to secede?

Regarding forign affairs, Trump reminds me more of England's Neville Chamberlain, than any American leader.

You know better. Trump is a point of amusement by all world leaders. Trump gives self-serving, meandering speeches in every international occasion. He cannot take himself out of any event.
The evidence is there. International leaders treat Trump like classes treat the class idiot. Ok , after he speaks, we will get back to business.

Oh it goes without saying we would have had to have bases in the UK to mass for the invasion of France. As to our staying out of the war isolationists were in both parties. Plus isolationism was the normal political line following WWI. And if FDR had wanted to fight Germany alone the Democrats controlled congress so the Republicans had no real say. But nice try at rewriting history.

Trump tweets: 8:23 AM - Oct 8, 2019: "...Ambassador Sondland, a really good man and great American..."

Then, a month later, Nov 8, Sondland testifies yes there was a QPQ.

And Trump changes his history with his friend:

"I hardly knew him." (The guy who gave a million to his inauguration and Trump made him the EU ambassador.) Hardly knew him, right.

    Flip flop.

Hey, wasn't 'flip flop' a bad thing for Republicans when John Kerry was running?

    Now it makes America great?

    Go figger.

Hey. There's another flip flop for ya.
