If Republicans has this kind of evidence against President Obama they would totally have impeached him. It would have been their Constitutional duty to do so, just as it is now for Democrats, who btw did not choose the timing.

Though according to the Schiff Impeachment Play Book, Obama could have been vulnerable for Fast and Furious and perhaps in the Iran Deal under the ‘abusing power’ heading in the Schiff Impeachment Manual.

And oh, a transcript or two with whatever conversations he had with the Iranians could well have been ‘interesting’. But things like that take ‘whistleblowers’—which takes us right back to the first point about Obama being impeachable.

I say this all the time, but I have no idea what Democrats hope to gain out of sending articles to the Senate.

I agree the Articles of Impeachment should not be sent to the Senate without first hearing from the key witnesses. Giuliani, Pompeo, Bolton, Mulvaney, Pence, Perry, and now: Nunes. There is no point in trying to rush this through. The House can rush it all they want but has no control over how quickly it goes through the Senate. If Republicans feel it is in their political advantage to drag this out and into the primary season, then they have always had the power to do that. So the House needs to just slow down and do a thorough job. The House needs to fight the obstruction of justice by the WH no matter how long that takes. I don't care if we go to election day next November with impeachment news still dominating the headlines. So be it.

Are they that desperate that they’re willing to put everything on the line for a long shot? Given their ‘case’ it’s a slam dunk for censure.

I see no cause for censure unless you are talking about Nunes for sitting on the Intelligence Committee hearings when he should have recused himself because he was personally involved in the scandal.

None of the risks of a senate trial; censure doesn’t put the House at risk: doesn’t pull Warren and company off the campaign trail; it has a good chance of actually being bipartisan; since they’re so bloody determined to damage Trump going into 2020 it would give the Democrats contender some campaign ammo.

Dream on.

But Democrats are determined to play Don Quixote. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
