Why do Republicans hate America?

No, really. It’s not a rhetorical question. Since consolidating its power in January 2017, the GOP has systematically set out to dismantle the economic strength of this nation, coddle predators, shield traitors, attack those who are working, and strip protections from the most vulnerable. Are these the actions of a party that loves the nation it has sworn to serve?

Consider the GOP’s attempts over the last year to blow up the U.S. economy and make life harder for its constituents. The Republicans’ first try at demolishing the economy as if it were nothing but an old abandoned building was their reckless attempt to destroy the Affordable Care Act, which housed and protected millions of American citizens. The GOP’s congressional leaders held no hearings, refused to even listen to expert testimony and were utterly unconcerned about the impact that dismantling a key component of the nation’s health care system would have on one-sixth of the American economy.

For America’s senior population alone, the Republicans’ assault on the safety net is going to be destabilizing and, in many cases, lethal.

Not satisfied with their own multi-pronged attack on the social fabric and safety net of the nation they claim to love, the Republicans have also let a foreign government attack the United States. Instead of repelling the invaders, strengthening our defenses and ferreting out the collaborators, the GOP has acted more like a fifth column shielding the saboteurs. In the fall of 2016, when confronted with the reports from 17 agencies in the intelligence community about Russian interference in the 2016 election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) threatened then-President Barack Obama with partisan nuclear destruction and left the nation vulnerable to Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s machinations.

Consider the myriad other ways that the Republicans have demonstrated their destructive contempt for America. They removed protections for students against predatory lenders and financially hobbled the capacity of the next generation of leaders to actually engage in anything but mere survival. In August 2017, they sheared off millions of acres from public parks and seem ready to sell them to the highest bidder.

They have rushed through nominees for lifetime appointments on the federal bench who are demonstrably unqualified and would warp and mangle what has been the rule of law in this nation for decades.

The Republicans have also lit a short fuse under America’s “soft power” ― our ideas, aspirations and strivings ― that makes the nation a world leader and not just any other one in the constellation. It only took a year under the GOP’s stranglehold for the global respect in which the U.S. was held to plummet from No. 1 to No. 6 in a global reputation survey.

It will take a lot more than just getting rid of the traitor-in-chief...the entire GOP crime syndicate needs to be exposed and dealt with before they can do more damage and IMO...once the giant racketeering web is unraveled the unqualified corporate tool judicial picks need to be recalled. Why should a criminal organization have the right to choose any judges? DUH!

Democrats hate America.
That’s one takeaway from a recent Gallup poll that shows only 32 percent of Dems are “extremely proud” to be an American, versus a substantially higher number of Republicans.
Of course, that’s a bit snarky. The low showing on the “extremely proud” scale doesn’t necessarily translate into “I hate America.”

But any half-hearted political watcher can see that for him- or herself, anyway. Antifa, anyone? Maxine Waters? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, and the whole rising batch of self-identifying socialists who are somehow creeping out of their dirt piles to swear allegiance to a country they want to substantially change?
Yes, a case — a very strong case — can indeed be made that Democrats do hate America, so much that they want to completely uproot its base systems, toss them to the trash, and institute new.
The survey, however, only rated how much respondents said they were “extremely proud” to be American. And overall, only 47 percent of U.S. adults described themselves that way.
That’s not very high by itself. But break it down by party, and the differences are huge. How huge? Republicans to the tune of 74 percent said they were “extremely proud” to be American, compared to 32 percent of Democrats.
Democrats in 2016, however, felt a bit different. Then, at a time when Barack Obama was still president, fully 46 percent professed extreme pride in being an American.
So one can only surmise that the left only likes America when a progressive-slash-socialist is at the helm — which, in constitutional terms, would mean the Dems only profess pride in America when America’s headed down a path it was never intended to tread. How quaint.
“Politics appears to be a factor,” Gallup reported of its findings, “Left-leaning groups’ antipathy toward Donald Trump and their belief that other countries look unfavorably on the president are likely factors in their decline in patriotism, particularly the sharp drops in the past year.”
Yes, the left is down in the dumps over this president, that’s for certain. But thing is, the way Democrats are acting — the crazy train they’ve been riding — virtually guarantees they’re going to face another wave of Republican leadership, another four years of the very White House administration they detest.
Hang on, poll-watchers. Those numbers for “extremely proud” to be an American are only going to go lower for the left, as the election season progresses.

Would the average Trumpy want to gut the environmental protections? I do not know but for the first time in a long time the air, land, and water are getting dirtier. Are they for Trump giving a couple trillion in taxes to the top 1 percent? They do not criticize it. Are they pleased that we have alienated our long term allies and snuggled up to dictators? I do not know but Trump did that. Are they for destroying NATO? Trump has begun that process? Do they care that Trump lies at incredible rates? Nope, they do not care. Do they like that Trump ignores economists and uses tariffs as a handy tool in politics? Do they care that Moscow Mitch is pushing unqualified right-wing judges to lifetime seats? Apparently rightys approve of that too. Do they care that Trump is rude to world leaders? Do they care that Trump wants to gut Social Security? Do they care that the wealth gap is at unprecedented levels and Trump is making it worse and future plans will accelerate that? Do they care that Trump asked foreigb=n countries , in 2 straight elections, to interfere in them to his advantage?
Nope. Rightys are in a cult or a religion. They cannot criticize their leader. Everything he says and does is great,the greatest ever.
The fact that rightys buy it all and more is why an adult dialogue is impossible.
