They are called ‘spy warrants’ for a reason.
It enables the IC to literally spy on people. That’s why Barr was hardly incorrect when he said he wanted to know the basis for *spying* on the Trump campaign. FISA warrants aren’t used on citizens [it’s intended to be used against terrorists] unless there’s a pretty damned compelling reason for it.
And Barr is hardly incorrect or unjustified opening an investigation to see what that compelling reason was.

FISA stands for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. It was meant to oversee
requests for surveillance warrants against foreign spies inside the U.S.
So they couldn't have gotten their "license to spy" if they would have stuck with a story
developed in the U.S. They knew they HAD to cook something up involving other counties.

Using a FISA warrant on a US citizen crosses a big line. Using it to spy on a presidential campaign crosses an even bigger line. Ironically, it’s the kind of thing Putin does.
It certainly appears that Carter Page was a convenient stooge for the seditionist spies in the IC: the fact Mullet couldn’t charge Page with anything is evidence for that.
