"Hill's words were directed at Republicans who believe Ukraine interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, not Russia. ...
"This is a fictional narrative that is being perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services themselves," Hill said. "The unfortunate truth is that Russia was the foreign power that systematically attacked our Democratic institutions in 2016. This is the public conclusion of our intelligence agencies, confirmed in bipartisan congressional reports. It is beyond dispute." "
Dr. Fiona Hill is a well respected nonpartisan diplomat who has served under both Republicans and Democrats. She is an expert on Russian activities.
Dr. Hill made this sworn statement under oath.
Republican Representative Devin Nunes paints the opposite narrative, but he was not sworn in, and not speaking under oath.
President Trump takes the same position as Nunes, but he too is not speaking under oath.
Republicans are petulantly clinging to the "Nunes Nonsense" even as their fake theory has been summarily and completely debunked by an expert on the subject.https://www.newsweek.com/nunesnonsen...ted-us-1473373

Hill is beating a straw man lol.
Mainstream republicans accept Russian interference in the election.
What do you think of Hill’s claim that the Russians set out to handicap, whoever won the election, as a means to divide the country?

Hello Darth,
I don't think that is true.
I missed that.
The Russians have achieved their objective. America is hopelessly divided and quite dysfunctional. We are putty in their hands. And the reason is that Republicans, blinded by power, are so gullible they will believe anything bad about Democrats, without questioning it.
Republican gullibility made it child's play for the Russians.

Lindsey Graham should be indicted for knowingly abusing his authority by bringing a knowing false baseless conspiracy theory
for investigation. It is abuse of authority and treason. It is contrary to the findings of all United States security services. There is
not a scintilla of evidence to supply any cause. On that TRUE case, his promulgation of that conspiracy theory is treason.

I’m a garden variety republican and I don’t question Russian interference. I’m highly skeptical of the spurious claim that Putin could win an election for any candidate from the Kremlin lol.
But here is Hill on that topic:
“They seed misinformation, they seed doubt, they have everybody questioning the legitimacy of a presidential candidate, be it President Trump or potentially President [Hillary] Clinton, that they would pit one side of our electorate against the other, that they would pit one party against the other,” she said.

I know right,
I thought the hearing was supposed to be about impeaching trump for high crimes and misdemeanors, whatever that means.
I guess that wasn't going so well so they reverted to Russia interfered int he 2016
and how important it was we help Ukraine fight Russia, which I found extremely hypocritical. Where were these "fight Russia" democrats when Obama was in office and Russia first invaded Ukraine.
"We'll give them blankets" Obama was sure showin them Russians his might

Hello Darth,
You are one person. Your views are unique to yourself. Nobody else completely agrees with you on every subject. Your views can in no way be extrapolated to represent the views of Republicans in general. There is no 'typical Republican' view. What there is in Republicans is a widely held belief in Trump propaganda.
You are entitled to your own view, just not your own facts.
Cherry-picked to support your narrative. The same US Intelligence services that she quoted have already established that Russia favored Trump in the 2016 election. They may have attacked both candidates, but the RUSSIAN EFFORTS FAVORED TRUMP.
Dr Hill: "I respect the work that this Congress does in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities, including in this inquiry, and I am here to help you to the best of my ability. If the President, or anyone else, impedes or subverts the national security of the United States in order to further domestic political or personal interests, that is more than worthy of your attention. But we must not let domestic politics stop us from defending ourselves against the foreign powers who truly wish us harm."

Who is it that refuses to question the legitimacy of President Trump?

The legitimacy of President Trump is the fact that he resides in the White House and Crooked Hillary doesn't.
Stop sulking and get over it.,

If the Russians are out to divide the country it doesn’t occur to you that you’re playing right into their hands lol?
The Dossier was gathered by Richard Steele from RUSSIANS. The Dossier has been debunked of its significant claims, yet it was used to start the Russian Investigation [what a fitting name lol] yet it never occurs to you that it may have been Russian propaganda that was *resoundingly successful* in dividing the country?

Hello Darth,
That, my dear friend, is subject-hopping.
If you support the President then you must support the false Putin narrative that it was Ukraine, not Russia, which meddled in the 2016 election. That's what this is all about.
That you wish to talk about something else, anything but this outright propaganda portrayed by the President, suggests you're blocking this crucial central point OUT.
It is disingenuous to continue to support the President as his baseless claims have been trashed.

I read this article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. It was a great takedown of that bloviator, who's all hat and no cattle. Highlights:
CLEVELAND -- Of all the regions in all the states in all the country, Jim Jordan got dragged into ours. There was no good reason to punish Greater Cleveland by making the person who’s now the second most contemptible human being in the entire U.S. government part of the region’s delegation to Congress. Worse yet, the betrayal was bipartisan...
When Ohio’s political and legislative leaders were drawing new congressional boundaries prior to the 2012 election... they all got what they wanted. But to make it work required drawing a hideously gerrymandered district for the southwest Ohio congressman, one that meanders some 200 miles from near Dayton north into Lorain County near Cleveland...
And now it’s fitting that Republicans have given this seven-term sycophant a starring role in the televised House Intelligence Committee impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump...
When Jordan slithers out from under his rock each morning, dons a shirt and tie - sans the jacket, lest he be mistaken for Joe McCarthy - his life’s work is to besmirch everything America stands for in service of Donald Trump. If it takes undermining yet another principle of democracy by condoning attacks on men and women who have devoted their lives in honorable service to this country, Jordan is always ready and willing. If it takes changing the Trump defense strategy on an almost daily basis because facts keep getting in the way, Jordan is the ideal bootlicker. Trump’s support is all that seems to matter to the man former House Speaker John Boehner regularly referred to as "a legislative terrorist” – along with a whole bunch of other descriptions unfit for print...
