Default Justice IG to testify next month on alleged 2016 surveillance abuse

Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee next month to testify on a forthcoming report on alleged surveillance abuse during the 2016 campaign.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who oversees the panel, announced on Monday that Horowitz will appear publicly on Dec. 11.

Graham’s decision to schedule the hearing is the latest sign that Horowitz’s report is nearing its release. The GOP senator said earlier this month that he expected it within weeks.

“I appreciate all the hard work by Mr. Horowitz and his team regarding the Carter Page FISA warrant application and the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign,” Graham said in a statement.

He added that he expected Horowitz to give a “detailed report” of his findings as well as make “recommendations as to how to make our judicial and investigative systems better.”

“I look forward to hearing from him. He is a good man that has served our nation well,” Graham added.

The watchdog's office announced in a March 2018 statement that it would "examine the Justice Department's and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) compliance with legal requirements, and with applicable DOJ and FBI policies and procedures, in applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) relating to a certain U.S. person."

"As part of this examination, the OIG also will review information that was known to the DOJ and the FBI at the time the applications were filed from or about an alleged FBI confidential source," the statement continued.

While the individual was not named in the announcement, the person is widely known to be Carter Page, the former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser who was investigated in connection with the FBI's probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

I assume the Party of the Jackass will start a smear campaign on Horowitz soon.

Hmm..isn’t the impeachment vote deadline the 12th?

And what point is there in Horowitz appearing *before* the release of his report?

    This could get complicated lol.

Was Stone convicted of anything having to do with Trump colluding with Russia? I can't believe you dumbasses are still clinging to this. Talk about bitter clingers, GEEZ. Not only did the Mueller report state that Trump didn't collude with Russia, but that NO AMERICAN did. Good grief man, get some fucking help before you poke your eye out or something.

FACTUAL RESULTS OF THE OBSTRUCTION INVESTIGATION

    A. The Campaign's Response to Reports About Russian Support for Trump
    B. The President's Conduct Concerning the Investigation of Michael Flynn
    C. The President's Reaction to Public Confirmation of the FBl's Russia Investigation
    D. Events Leading Up To and Surrounding the Termination of FBI Director Corney
    E. The President's Efforts to Remove the Special Counsel
    F. The President's Efforts to Curtail the Special Counsel Investigation
    H. The President's Further Efforts to Have the Attorney General Take Over the Investigation
    I. The President Orders McGahn to Deny that the President Tried to Fire the Special Counsel
    J. The President's Conduct Towards Flynn, Manafort,
    K. The President's Conduct Involving Michael Cohen

“Our investigation found multiple acts by the President that were capable of exerting undue influence over law enforcement investigations, including the Russian-interference and obstruction investigations. The incidents were often carried out through one-on-one meetings in which the President sought to use his official power outside of usual channels. These actions ranged from efforts to remove the Special Counsel and to reverse the effect of the Attorney General's recusal; to the attempted use of official power to limit the scope of the investigation; to direct and indirect contacts with witnesses with the potential to influence their testimony. Viewing the acts collectively can help to illuminate their significance. For example, the President's direction to McGahn to have the Special Counsel removed was followed almost immediately by his direction to Lewandowski to tell the Attorney General to limit the scope of the Russia investigation to prospective election-interference only-a temporal connection that suggests that both acts were taken with a related purpose with respect to the investigation.”

    23 days and counting!

And, he's just the opening act. I'm sure that Durham will closely follow after Horowitz.
    Keep this thread going!
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

I don’t see Durham closing soon lol.

Though who knows. But the appearance of Horowitz *the day before* lol, the House Impeachment vote deadline on 12/11 is notable for its timing.

Was this intentional? Did Democrats and the Deep State just get out-Deep Stated? What an odd coincidence.

Wouldn’t Pelosi want to know what cards Horowitz is holding and/or what inconvenient facts Republicans might pry out of him before she pulls the trigger?

Or does Pelosi hold the vote before the release of the FISA report? What if indictments are recommended in it? How will THAT look to voters?

It’s almost like someone was holding an Ace but didn’t want to play it until the time was right.
