Default Why is red state West Virginia so poor?

Almost one in four West Virginians is employed in a low-wage job of the ones who have a job.

Many others are drug addicts, wife beaters, in prison, etc. And they are gullible enough to think trump "cares" about them.

When is the last time trump had some out of work coal miners to Mar-a-Lago for some golf and lobster?
Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. If the domestic taliban known as the "religious right" can't abide by that law of the land, they can pack up and go somewhere else. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

West Virginia has one of the highest rates in the country of non-medical abuse of prescription pain relievers in 19 to 25 year olds.

Opioids are the number one cause of death associated with drug overdoses.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment

If big blue cites are so great and rich why do they contain blacks to mostly one area that no one wants to go too?

If red state 94% white West Virginia is so great... why do they contain white teabillies that are drunk, uneducated, on drugs, tattoo'd and gullible enough to vote for a con man.

Because they have historically supported democrat socialist policies until recently. Just like the RUST BELT democrats who grew tired of being SHIT ON by the elite leftist banking families …..they voted for CHANGE when they saw what TRUMP was selling...……..its not rocket science.....this trend leading toward conservativism began in 2014...after Obama's first term when he declared war on COAL. In 2017 the change resulted in 40% democrat voters as compared to 44% republican.

Evidence? Your pompous ass post concluding they are DEPLORABLE poor people because they supported CHANGE.

Truth: Still today.....at the local level....DEMOCRATS still control this state and its policies. Its one of the most corrupt states in the UNION, run by democrat political machines at the local level. Any office can be purchased, any judge can be bought off. Its politics as usual at the local level.

You want to know why this state remains POOR? Ask the politicians. One such politician? Joe Manchin …...whose Uncle A. James Manchin stole....err....supposedly LOST over 300 million dollars in (wink, wink) bad investments. The money was never recovered nor was A. James ever prosecuted....he resigned.....and was replaced by GUESS WHO his 32 year old son.

Now....its just a quinky dink that A. James' nephew is a mutli-millionaire politician and has held the office of Governor and Senator...…..Yeah....ask the people why they are so poor?

Of the worst representatives this STATE EVER HAD was the RAG HEAD career democrat politician Nick Rahall whose office was purchased decades before by his rich middle eastern wealthy family. What better way to control policy than to purchase a congressional seat? The Folks grew weary of this plant and finally fired his ass...………...
