Default Princeton drops standardized test requirement. To increase DIVERSITY

They claim the tests are culturally biased against minorities and are written by white people for white people. So why do asians do so well on the tests? This new policy is an admission blacks are mentally inferior.

nov 13 2019 Two Ivy League universities have announced that many graduate programs will no longer require the traditional standardized Graduate Records Examination testing requirements for applications, citing reasons pertaining to "diversity" and concerns that such tests are "biased" against minority and low-income students.

Both Princeton University and Brown University recently announced that they are moving away from standardized testing requirements for graduate admission in the name of creating a more diverse student body.

"there is concern that standardized tests are culturally biased in favor of certain groups"

Princeton announced its decision to do away with the standardized test for 14 different graduate programs in September, calling the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) biased against minority groups.

Blatant elite racism and prejudice against poorer people.
As if minorities and poorer human beings can't study, work hard and educate
themselves for 12 years prior to college.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

I spoke with one of my best friends who went to Harvard Law about this. He commented some places have tried to do away with the LSAT as well. He believes the tests are useful because they are a good indicator of success in the program. So if there is a racial bias itís likely a deeper problem than the test.

To his point if the test is an indicator of future success are you doing people a disservice of putting them in a program they are not set up to succeed in if you eliminate it?

Many many people have said that. You let an unqualified black with 550 on his math SAT go to MIT and he flunks out. If had gone to ohio state he may have done fine.

This new policy applies to graduate schools so we're talking 16 years of schooling prior to admission. Anyway - with all the special treatment and affirmative action grading teachers give blacks, it's good to have standardized tests to determine if they really have learned anything. That's assuming the standardized tests do not also use AA scoring !!!

My beef was with the campus reform site. I agree with standardized testing.

And what qualifies as a wrong answer? Anything that liberals disagree with.

That the earth is only 6,000 years old is a religious belief of some people but obviously not scientifically correct.

Selective undergraduate admissions have always used different criteria for selecting students. If you used only the SAT all students would be Asian science and math majors (ok, a little exaggerated).

But a person who is an excellent artist or musician who does not have high SAT scores could be admitted because of his talent and because the art and music department need students to keep their jobs.

Even when the Ivy League schools were admitting only white students they would choose some from the Middle West, South, etc. for "diversity."

"The Ohio state House of Representatives has passed the Student Religious Liberties Act, which prevents teachers from penalizing students for giving incorrect answers on tests or other schoolwork if those facts would conflict with their religious beliefs."

In this case we were talking GMAT and LSAT, so graduate programs but I get your point.

I don't know that. If somebody wants to say the world was created yesterday with holes in our socks and hair that needs cutting, how are you gonna disprove that?

No one is saying we should use only the SAT. But it has it's place along with grades. Grades are flawed for many reasons chief of which is that teachers take bribes.

BTW, this article concerns grad applicants and they take the GRE not the SAT.
