There are two groups who by most markers might well be aligned with the GOP: Devout Christian African-Americans, and devout Christian Hispanics. Both are also usually pro-life. However, due to their long-entrenched antipathy to non-whites, the Republicans have great difficulty attracting them as voters. Propping up a token now and then isn't going to cut it.
