“We got six people having four conversations in one sentence, and you just told me this is
where you got your clear understanding,” Jordan said. "And you're their star witness."

“Opinion: Day 1 of the Trump impeachment hearing was a lost day for Democrats

Day 1 of the public House impeachment hearings on President Trump is in the books, and nothing that happened will move public opinion in a meaningful way. The folks who have wanted to impeach Trump since he won the presidency still do, and the folks who don’t still don’t.

In other words, it’s a lost day for Democrats.

The burden of proof is on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Burbank) to do more than secure impeachment, which is all but certain. Their job is to conduct these hearings in a way that moves public opinion to the point that the Senate will convict the president. That means giving Republican senators something that changes their impression of Trump’s conduct of Ukraine foreign policy. What’s alleged may make many members of the GOP uncomfortable, but it doesn’t come remotely close to requiring that the president be removed from office.

The opening-day witnesses — diplomatic officials Bill Taylor and George Kent — testified professionally and with honor, but they failed to deliver a made-for-TV gotcha. Rather, they simply reiterated that they had no firsthand knowledge of the president’s interactions and had not had conversations with the president directly.“

Anyone catch the part where the Ukrainians only became aware of the delay *after* reading about it in a Politico article?

Who instructed Politico to leak that?

This thing is rotten to the core. Think about that: the Ukrainians *weren’t even aware* that aid was being delayed—until they read about it in our media.

This is farcical lol. It’s like ‘everyone knew’ the Ukrainians were being pressured to investigate the Biden’s—but the Ukrainians! And they only knew about it because Politico informed them of it.

I don’t even know what to say any more.

It's not our problem you don't care that your president was caught red handed attempting to bribe a foreign government to attack
Biden using my taxes. It's yours. Nice potus you elected, dumbass. You are going to pay for your stupidity.

I just want to know how they will feel when future Presidents use their power for self interests, especially when it’s a Democrat. They are allowing this new precedent by turning a blind eye to Trump’s corruption.

Simple, what would you do if you were a stupid hypocrite with zero integrity capable for voting for a known criminal dumbass gameshow host who ran Jersey casinos
into the ground, ran a fraud university and cheated on his taxes, paid off porn star fuck bags for silence and lied all the time?

You'd forget all that and attack the Dem who followed this new Republican sanctioned Trump rule of foreign policy with righteous fervor.

We have more deep state than they do. They WILL be held to account for Trump's behavior and their attitude towards it.

I don't think they are capable of thinking that far ahead, even if it's only next year. lol

So, Taylor’s testimony is based on some office scuttle-butt heard around the water cooler lol?

I almost feel sorry for some of these people Democrats trot out in front of Congress. I actually believe Taylor when he says he doesn’t have an agenda—but his testimony is a joke. It would be thrown out in any courtroom.

Again, the take home point is this: it was only after his second meeting with Zelensky that Zelensky was even aware that aid was being delayed—and it was only because someone at Politico *alerted them*.

Apart from being highly suspicious in terms of collusion between ‘certain House members’ and the media—that is a slam dunk for this fact: if there was a quid pro quo IT WAS NOT BEING COMMUNICATED TO THE UKRAINIANS BY ANYONE IN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION.
