A problem with Colonel Vindman.
Vindman conceded two things in his deposition that spells serious trouble for House Democrats:
One is, unbelievably, that whether Trump was pressuring Zelensky is “open to interpretation”.
From the link:
"The president in the transcript uses some, you know, words of hedging from time to time," Castor said. "You know, on page 3, he says 'whatever you can do.' He ends the first paragraph on page 3, 'if that's possible.' At the top of page 4, 'if you could speak to him, that would be great.' 'So whatever you can do.' Again, at the top of page 4, 'if you can look into it.' Is it reasonable to conclude that those words hedging for some might, you know, lead people to conclude that the president wasn't trying to be demanding here?"
"I think people want to hear, you know, what they have as already preconceived notions," Vindman answered, in what may have been one of the more revealing moments of the deposition. "I'd also point your attention to 'whatever you can do, it's very important to do it if that's possible.'"
"'If that's possible,'" Castor stressed.
"Yeah," said Vindman. "So I guess you can interpret it in different ways."
______________
At this point in the deposition, the republican is pointing out that Trump was couching his ‘favor’ with terms like ‘if that’s possible’; ‘if you could speak with him that would be great’ etc
And in the Mother of Ironies, Vindman concedes ‘people hear things according to their preconceived notions’.
And keep in mind this came AFTER Vindman conceded that the released transcript of the call was “very accurate”. His words.
Again, I marvel that Democrats are seriously considering taking this thing to the Senate. Seriously, if your star witness concedes that the call transcript [which he characterized as being “very accurate”] can be interpreted in different ways—WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS?
And they think they can remove Trump over it?
Speechless.

They know he won't be removed but the investigation will be going on as long as they want. More shit on trump comes up almost daily.

Oh no, not another right conspiracy formulated from cherrypicking phrases, and I thought the "deep state" one built from a dozen or so phrases pulled from over five thousand plus Emails was the topper
Democrats don't have a problem, nearly everything each of the witnesses testifys verifies each others account plus that of the intial whistleblower, those aren't individual phrases pulled out, but lengthy content building a consensus

Conspiracy lol?
It’s from the flipping deposition. Once Vindman concedes the *very accurate* call transcript is open to interpretation—what else matters?
The other witnesses ‘share his opinion on it’? So they all get together and vote on it? And that comprises ‘evidence’.
Republicans in the Senate are going to want *facts*. If democrats can’t provide them—well, this is what they wanted.

What you are saying is based upon pulling half dozen phrases from his what, ten hour testimony? You can't see the idiocy of that?
The other testimonies validated each others' account of events prior to and surrounding the call, and that includes one individual in on the call and another who is a Trump man, usually nine witnesses to any event is considered pretty reliable especially when the circumstances are so similar
And at this point what happens in the Senate is irrelevant, not acting on what appears to be an obvious abuse of power because what could happen in the Senate isn't a consideration
