I know they want to limit this to just the call, but all the shit leading up to the call makes it clear what the call was all about. They are desperate to judge the call in a vacuum, its an old mob trick, segment the crime so its harder to prove.

Tell the guy that the Don will be making "a request he cannot refuse", then when the request is made, the Don does not have to actually articulate the threat himself in case there is a wiretap. That does not make it legal however, just harder to put it all together, but that's what the hearings Trump cried about did.

When Trump held back over $250,000,000 of emergency military aid so Ukraine could defend against the Russian advancements, not to be released unless their government did Trump personal favors, how is that not a bribe?
because it never happened and because Zelensky did not know the aid was temporarily withheld

    Did I say it did.

But if a treaty exists that stated countries need to ferret out corruption and a President holds them to that then bribery can’t exist.

    Moving the goal posts again?

Quid pro quo wasn’t getting it for ya so now it is bribery and extortion.

The TV investigations will, clear that up for you. Zelensky was told about what he had to give to get the aid. He knew.

    1) Sure it can.
    2) Especially when they ask to have only their opponent singled out.
    3) Very especially when its 5 years after the event they are complaining about.
    4) When they are holding back $250,000,000 for defense against the Russians.

If Trump had held it up to prevent corruption generally, or against those who he stood no personal gain from having prosecuted, you might have an argument.

Did Trump ask to have Manafort investigated? NO
Did Trump ask to have any of the thousands who committed crimes with Ukraine investigated? NO
He only demanded a public announcement that Biden be investigated.
