Default MITCH tells REPS in closed door mtg., come up with your OWN Trump defense (excuses)

McConnell is NOT a funny guy but this IS kinda funny! Let's examine the possibilities...

1--Your on your own. I've run out talking points.
2--All the talking points we've tried are ringing hollow and are LAUGHABLE.
3--Determine your own electoral prospects and use the LANGUAGE you need to suck Trump's ass.
4--The ship is sinking, "every man or woman for themselves".
5--FUCK THIS, I'm rich, my wife is richer. I'm old, if I lose fuck it and fuck you!

According to a report at HuffPost, Republican lawmakers, left without guidance by the White House on how to push back at the House impeachment hearings being conducted by the Democratic-led House, are being forced to come up with their own defense of embattled President Donald Trump.

With reports that the White House is the scene of a pitched battle over a which plan to use to fight the Democrats, Senate Republicans are floundering when confronted by the press on how they feel about impeachment hearings that could lead to them to have to vote on whether to force Trump from office.

According to the report, “Republicans have no unified argument in the impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump, in large part because they can’t agree on how best to defend the president — or for some, if they should.”

Noting, “it’s every Republican for himself or herself,” the report goes on to add, “The result is a mishmash of GOP commentary spilling from Capitol Hill that may shield lawmakers, for now, from risky political choices, but leaves them with a disjointed defense of Trump as impeachment hearings push into the public realm this coming week.”

According to the report, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently convened a closed-door meeting, complete with a PowerPoint presentation, to explain how impeachment works, but left it to his GOP colleagues to fashion their own Trump defenses.

“McConnell told Republican senators their best bet was to calibrate their own message about the impeachment inquiry to fit their political situation, according to two people familiar with the private meeting who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the closed-door session,” HuffPost reports. “But when it came time to broach what Republicans should say about impeachment, McConnell showed a preference for saying as little about it as possible.”

According to veteran GOP strategist Alex Conant, the lack of a unified message could prove to be disastrous for a party facing what is expected to be a contentious and high-turnout election in 2020.

It’s not good. Normally you want to establish the facts, get them out on their own terms, and build a message around that strategy. They’re not doing any of that,” Conant explained. “It’s hard to rally people to your side without a coherent and sustainable message.”

Democratic strategist Jim Manley said Republicans should proceed at their own peril, warning, “Most of these folks have got to know that what the president’s doing is wrong, but they’ve made a cold-hearted, political decision right now it’s best to stick with the president.”

Nothing new, there is no strategdy coming out of the White House, they basically are on their own, that way Trump won't have to go back and back track something they said, but he is keeping track to make sure they do defend him, kinda puts the pressure on them

I wouldn't make BET that he is keeping up with with all their posturing or excuses. He watches FOX. Unless he reads or hears other 'channels', how would he know.

Yeah....the Senate is going to remove Mr. Trump when there is no evidence of any "high" crime or "high" misdemeanor. Bringing deep state Obama era holdover bureaucrats and parading them in front of a camera to give personal 2nd hand opinions about a supposed deal made in a phone call is laughable.

In Fact....the Senate does not even have to hold a hearing it can summarily dismiss the entire congressional impeachment. How.....simply do what congress just did....tweak a few procedural rules like Shitlless did in the house and Bingo.....you have the rules changed, such as changing the rules to appoint judges....etc. boycott rules.....remember when socialist democrat Reid changed the rules concerning the "nuclear" option?

What makes anyone assume that the senate cannot engage in the same practices that congress just did.....and change the rules to suit their agenda?

That's what MC CONNELL said initially. THEN he announced, if it comes to us we will take it up. Didn't FOX tell you that?

And? Do you have reading comprehension problems "Corky"?

The point being.....what's fair for the goose (The House)…...is fair for the gander (The Senate)….the RULES are easily manipulated especially when a soviet style congress and senate established a precedent. Example: Reid under Obama changed the rules to fit the democrat agenda...then it bit them on the ass when Trump come into power. (Trump has appointed almost 200 federal judges with a simple majority up/down vote...it no longer requires a 60 vote approval).

Now the do nothing congress is changing house rules in an attempt to block discovery and due process via the opposing party...this too will bite them on the ass...sooner rather than later. This supposed "impeachment" is a big nothing burger and will be overshadowed when the FISA abuse indictments are front page.

Shitless and Fancy "KNOW" they have nothing....they are simply attempting to keep this supposed investigation open until the FISA abuse report is public knowledge...then with the help of the press they will cry..."TRUMP is only doing this and weaponizing the court system because we are in the process of impeachment....."

YEAH: Things that make you go HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

How do we know what their next move is...….how does anyone know what is on the mind of a child throwing a tantrum? History. What does history tell us? No US PRESIDENT has ever been removed through an impeachment process. -0- Zero. And you really expect this POTUS to be removed when NO CRIME was ever evidenced or indicted? Really? Blow Job was indicted for 13 felonies...he walked. Nixon was caught red handed for SPYING (now why does that sound familiar....spygate anyone? The facts prove...the wrong people are being IMPEACHED, the guilty are those that actually paid Russian Agents for dirt on a political opponent....the Steele/Clinton Dossier)….Nixon resigned and was quickly pardoned by Ford. And the Senate failed to remove Johnson from office. Its simply a political dog and phony show...nothing more.

If you think Trump will resign when he has the deep state all but locked up.....you are batshit crazy.

The latest "fair" poll where 29% democrats, 29% republicans and 42% Independent were sampled ….with none being oversampled like the FOX poll that over sampled democrat by 20% than republicans.

The results? 73% disapprove of any type of impeachment. Monmouth Poll: Results
