Nixon's resignation was due less to decency than Congress had the votes to impeach and convict him.

It was 6 republicans who voted against Nixon

    the senate never voted
The Senate doesn't vote unless the president is impeached and the House never voted to impeach Nixon.

He resigned when he was informed he was going to lose the vote. Impeachment was impending.

Nixon was approached by members of the GOP and advised to resign because they were going to find him culpable anyway. This current GOP is a crime syndicate that has no integrity and are just here to steal and guarantee their own cushy jobs and agenda. They don't give a crap what he does as long as they can maintain power.

A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.

Agreed. That is what I said in the above post: "Nixon's resignation was due less to decency than Congress had the votes to impeach and convict him."

The Judiciary Committee did vote to impeach him and it was going to the floor next.
