Default A plan for House Republicans this week

Since there’s zero hope of stopping the impeachment train long enough to investigate the ‘investigators’ this late in the game House republicans need to do it themselves.

Zaid, the WB [aka Eric Ciamarella] lawyer needs to be put under oath—just to see the extent of his associations: does he know Jim Comey or any of the actors that started the Russian Hoax or were otherwise involved in the scheme to get Mullet appointed. Democrats will scream that it’s irrelevant but the country needs to know if this is the second attempt—by some of the same characters—to illegitimately take down a president.

If it is legitimate, democrats have nothing to fear from republicans asking Zaid a few questions under oath.

    They will kick and scream.

Both Schiff and Ciamarella *absolutely* need to be put under oath because they are both fact witnesses—and that’s non-negotiable.

Republicans need to subpoena ALL communications between Schiff and/or Schiff’s aids and Ciaramella that occurred prior to the filing of the WB memos.

As long as republicans stay united they have leverage on this thing. They need to let House democrats know they won’t get a single republican vote unless their demands are met. And if Pelosi wants to send articles of impeachment to the Senate without a single republican vote [along with a handful of democrat defectors] then her party can hold her responsible for what happens afterwards.

Or she can do the sensible thing and look for an out.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

do the Republicans even have subpoena power??
and if they do Schiff will block witnesses he doesn't want that challenge his narrative

Ciaramella & Zaid are a real bunch of ultra-partisan hacks -I hope the Repubs submitted their name to the
Great and all-Powerful Schiff; but again Schiff is never gonna let them get near a witness stand.

It's a pig circus, it's been one from the start, and will remain the same.
Schiff's attempt at "transparency" is so ridiculous everyone knows it's a sham.

But the media will do their duty and pretend this has meaning, and the Dems will droll on about da 'rule of law' until the last act of this circus. Then the adults in the Senate will dispose of this rank partisanship and it will just be another stain on our democracy

The Republicans in the House can’t do shit. They have no power

But Republicans in the Senate can and as always they are too pussified to do it. Rumor is that they don’t really want to get to the bottom of this because it would implicate Lindsey Graham’s “good friend” John McCain. Remember McShamnesy helped pass along the bogus Steele Dossier which makes me wonder if Graham is dirty in all of this too.

    I agree.

But the problem with Schiff blocking republican witnesses is it will give the perception [and rightly earned] that it’s a partisan Witch Hunt. Furthermore, Republicans need to make it crystal clear that Democrats won’t get a single republican vote if their demands aren’t met.

The proper response by Schiff—assuming he’s not hiding any illegitimate cards, would be ‘fine, whatever, call whoever you want’. That would be the proper response if they had a slam dunk case and all their witnesses were ‘clean’. It shouldn’t matter who republicans call but apparently it does.

Republicans may be the House minority but as long as they stay united they have considerable leverage. Impeachment was never intended to be split along party lines, Schiff knows it, Pelosi knows it and all but Nancy’s loony flank knows it.

The vast majority of voters know it. So republicans need to use their leverage to make an impeachment vote a risky proposition for Pelosi.

If Republicans play their cards right they can keep Nancy from ever calling for one.

Pelosi lost control of her caucus when AOC became the public leader.
( remember AOC then said she was "board" with Impeachment"?) -Pelosi isn't driving the Crazy Train anymore.
She is in too deep to not vote Impeachment.

Absolutely the Repubs need to stay united -fortunately this "process" of no due process insures the Repubs won't break rank.
What I'm curious about is once this turkey hits the Senate -will they just vote to dismiss ( like a trial judge)
or how far will they take this charade?

Lindsey Graham is the left wing's poster boy in SC although they try to keep it a secret. He's the only "Republican" that can get more votes from Democrats than one of their own.

Democrats in SC realize that despite Fritz "Foghorn Leghorn" Hollings being elected for so long, once he was out of office, Democrats don't stand a chance of electing another Democrat to that seat. That's why so many Democrats will vote in the Republican primary. They help Lindsey get the nomination knowing that he's the closest thing to a Democrats they'll get in that seat.

    I disagree.

As long as House republicans stay united they have leverage on the democrats. The only reason republicans don’t have subpoena power is because Schiff won’t give it to them.

There’s no good reason for them not to have it—assuming the objective of the hearings is to discover the truth.

Republicans need to make that abundantly clear.

If Nancy supported impeachment and her pussy wasn't being grabbed by AOC, a vote would have taken place last January when she became Speaker.

That’s all well and good but the House makes it’s own rules

The Senate could blow this whole thing up if they had balls

House Democrats can make all the rules they want just like we can accuse them of stacking the deck.

Here's a plan for the republi-cons...take a long walk off a short pier.
    BLUEXIT
A Modest Proposal For Separating Blue States From Red

    Dear Red-State Trump Voter,
Let’s face it, guys: We’re done.

It is a tragedy that so much of the work that so many men and women toiled at for so long to make this a better country, and a better world, has been thrown away, leaving us all in such needless peril.

This is why our separation in all but name is necessary.
