There’s no wisdom in it. What’s the point of taking a party line impeachment vote to a Republican controlled Senate? That’s putting nervous House Democrats on the line, for what, exactly?

Trump is impeached. So lol? Like that’s going to change anything. Trump’s supporters look at this as the *second* corrupt attempt at removing him from office and nullifying their votes. I’m thinking they’ll show up in 2020.

And how does a strictly partisan house impeachment vote look to independents? Even people who don’t care for Trump are going to look askance at that since impeachment should be bi-partisan or not at all.

But if Democrats blow through all the Stop Signs it wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

I think there are two things at play here

    1) They are scared shitless about Durham's investigation. They know they are dirty through and through and if Durham exposes them, it is over

    2) They really don't have any other choice. They can't pass any legislation that will make it into law. They know the economy is roaring. And they know that the cast of characters they have lined up to take on Trump can't beat him despite all of the bogus polling.

They are trying to keep their base ginned up because if their base doesn't turn out they get wiped out and the last thing they want is a re-elected President Trump with a mandate. They are trying to have him wounded, like they did with the Russian Collusion hoax

"Yeah, Trump is re-elected but he is illegitimate because he was impeached"

And it’s very nearly Captain Obvious stuff lol.

Even the most diehard impeachment enthusiasts concede it will die in the Senate so impeachment by the House is pure politics. No, it’s the worst sort of politics that will only further divide the country. There’s no coherent argument to made for embarking on this impeachment mission this close to an election.

The mind boggling thing is it doesn’t help Democrats: all the democrat Senators running for nomination are going to be dragged off the campaign trail for the Senate trial. And how can Pelosi be sure how a Senate trial would go? She can’t know, and any number of things could come out of it that would hurt Democrats. An Impeachment vote puts the House at risk for democrats.

And if the Senate trial goes South for Democrats then it’s almost guaranteed they will the lose House, not get the Senate and face the prospect of Trump being re-elected with Democrats being totally locked out of power.

I’m by no means convinced Nancy will go all the way with this. In fact, unless the televised hearings are a resounding success for Democrats—I look for her to tank it somehow.

as this thing continues to be seen for what it is - a power play and not even worthy of impeachment- it will help Trump.

for sure the Dems strategy was to bloody up Trump with impeachment -but the Senate will make short work of it.
For those of us tuned in -is this not the ultimate Deep State Creeps move?

I do hope the "suburban women" are actually thinking this year.
Fat and happy with jobs and a roaring economy -they still seem to focus on Trump's bloviating.
Americans are so stupid -they probably don't even recall what a recession is.

There is a woman in her 50's that frequents the pool - i asked her the other day who she was gonna vote for -
she wasn't sure! and she at least understood what Trump has done for the economy

Yeah, I’ve talked to people who just can’t get past ‘Trump’ to look at what the country is doing under his presidency.

But the numbers are undeniable. Record unemployment numbers for minorities; people are working; the Obama malaise is a distant memory. No stupid wars. No North African nations turned into Islamist run shit holes.

But ‘Trump’. It’s like their brain shuts down at the word.

    Nah lol.

In terms of coordination the Russian Hoax gets that award. This one was cobbled together precisely BECAUSE the Russian Hoax failed to deliver an impeachment.

And they think we don’t see this.
